Real Madrid vs Sevilla discussion

I think arbeloa will return for this one. The return of Xabi will make things interesting in the middle of the park. Carletto categorically stated that Illarra and Xabi are not compatible in his preferred 4-3-3.

I just hope that Illarra gets a long run out in the team, esp. coz he's been improving a lot lately.

I'm not sure why Alonso's return is being hyped. Even if he wasn't injured, his starting spot this season wouldn't have been guaranteed.

Ideally we would have a pure DM in DM spot. However with the current system, Alonso will probably take Illarramendi's spot.

Lopez, Arbeloa, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo, Illarramendi, Khedira, Isco, Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema.

this. Illara has done superbly but Alonso's return could be the upturn in form

Bale this game MOTM.

Isco needs a talk from Zidane, he stymied some absolutely brilliant touches with a lack of patience. Xabi looked great, he plays the game naturally and knows exactly which buttons to push.

Benzema is really a intelligent player can play well with anyone around him, also glad to see carlo is letting him roam more now.

Bale was very good today hope he can continue like this and get his form up

Isco is really playing himself out of the team, he is starting to look really limited needs to get into gear soon

Arbeloa wasn't great but no need to start booing fans gotta learn to quit with that attitude.

On a side note, Rakitic just cant stop scoring can he?? 7 already this season, may just be raising his potential sale value when he finally leaves in the summer.

Another, interesting fact: if Rakitic were to score the 2nd penalty and complete his Hat-trick, it would have meant that the last three Away players to score a 'trick @ the bernabeu had all gone back with a defeat

tbh, if any other bad tech striker have played with bale and Cr7 yesterday, we wouldn't had 7 goals.

Benz was playing the perfect role, if only ozil was playing behind him, Wow.

You couldn't be more wrong on your view of Benzema this game.
Because with that same logic Isco, our CAM, should have looked a lot better than he did yesterday.

He'll do slightly better with Bale than Di Maria, since Bale is a scorer and is slightly less inclined to rifle in the crosses. Still usually comes down to how much of the ball he sees.

This game he floated around a little, saw the ball enough over stretches, but still not as much as the way he uses it should demand.

Can't really take anything from the game. Sevilla played like part time league 4 team.

Good end to end game though. Ronaldo should have let Bale take the penalty.

Also same problems exist. Good on the counter, however defensively poor and possession play not the best yet.

With Bale and Ronaldo up top, you need to begin to realize that possession will never be a fundamental part of our game.
