Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Also Giroud improving what a myth, making it sound like he was some scrub last season
He was already good, I think he's just settled, the confidence of which shows in his play. Haters be hatin

If Giroud has settled, then his performances have improved. It's not a myth.
You can say he's improved and not think he was crap last year.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Our mission was never to challenge for the title though? That's just like saying Newcastle SHOULD finish in the top 4 this season because they've won 4 games in a row and they're up there so it has to happen. That's not how it works. Liverpool's aim ALL season has to be in the top 4, we're on course on doing that so far despite playing like crap.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:I never said you couldn't challenge for top 4 i said you couldn't challenge Arsenal for the league.
Yes i don't visit the Liverpool section very often anymore because i'm considered an hater whose opinion is not valid so i don't bother.
No finishing top 4 isn't meaningless, maybe to you but to many people its very meaningful as its qualifying for Europe and the relegation battle is very meaningful to a lot of people.
The only thing that is meaningless is mid table mediocrity.... as long as you achieve something what ever that maybe the end justify the means.
Not sure why it matters anyway, because its only 4 points and Arsenal have to play Everton, City and Chelsea over Christmas.
You are acting like they are ten points clear and unbeaten, they have dropped points and arguably had the easiest fixture list of that lot.....
If the PL is shit i hate to know what the other leagues are.
"Only 4 points league is still open". You're still looking at the table and not performances. If you want to look at the PL ladder and then say it's close, go and look at who's topped the table the table early December in the last 5 years of the PL and look at the eventual winners. This season is as predictable as those last 5 years. There won't be any challenge on Arsenal. Not unless City / Chelsea get their shit together which will only happen after January in which case Arsenal will have a steady lead.

Pessimist or realist...? Or are you still in the belief that Liverpool has been "great" this season and we'll comfortable finish top 4?McAgger wrote:Red Alert has been a pessimist this whole season even when we were top of the league so his comments come as no surprise
We have absolutely NO CHANCE of getting a result at the Etihad. Stamford Bridge is 50/50 considering our record there in the past but we've had a horrible track record on the road so I doubt we'll get a result there. Let's not forget Mourinho is a different manager to most and he's slowly turning SB into a fortress again.Natalie Portman wrote:I read the Liverpool section and I can confirm ynwa has been on the team's back since day 1. Even when they were top, he was saying we're shit and we'll fall. So it's definitely not a reaction to the Hull defeat.
PL is not shit...but I hope Arsenal starts dropping some points soon, because considering we're gonna beat both Chelsea n City away in the next weeks, Arsenal must also drop points or the gap will be way too much.

BS. As good as they've been in recent weeks, we've always outplayed them - be it Anfield or Etihad. I wouldn't be surprised if we draw this game though I'm obviously not counting on it.We have absolutely NO CHANCE of getting a result at the Etihad. No, actually , no . I watched the last 20' of the first half and only the last 10 minutes about the second half.
Anyway too much . I deserve an award for courage
I wanted to watch, I usually try to watch those Monday night games (or Tuesday in this case) even when it's "just" midtable tussle, but I couldn't bring myself to try this one out...

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Liverpool, as a team, always give me the impression of being up for it and punching above their weight in the big games over the last few years. I may be wrong, but I always thought its their dropped points against scrub/midtable teams and upsets which cost them more (in terms of points over 38 games).ExtremistEnigma wrote:BS. Then again, I don't watch any other team (apart from Arsenal ofcourse) with any semblance of regularity.
Also, Robes - respect man! I have been following your posts and like the insights and views you have on PL. Cheers mate!

We always step up our game against top sides. Against smaller teams, we give half hearted performances. It's a mentality issue.

You think Everton will nick it at OT, RG? I am contemplating watching that match on a second screen..
Also, Chelsea, City and Tottenham all play reeeeaaalllyyy easy games today, although each of them is an away game.

What a foolish Ravel Morrison . Too nervous to defeat, when the match was already finished, gets a yellow card by referee
and so automatically takes the disqualification . he will miss the next match against Liverpool

I hope Arsenal dont get complacent. Our previous sides would follow up the wins against the likes of Barca, with a loss to the Birminghams of the league
