Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
I'm a little worried
None of the names mentioned really strikes me as players that would straight into our starting XI and be first names on the team sheet week in week out.
God I hope we don't waste another odd 10mill on some srub depth signing. Massive, massive mercato for us.

About Tello: he's wanted on loan by half a dozen teams (including LFC) but Barcelona don't want to let him go. In the summer revaluation

Rumors have been disappointing.
hopefully the club is keeping their cards very close and no one has any idea that we have amazing players on our short list.
All these names thrown around is just for Spurs

I have same thoughts mate!!! But sadly CAM and specially GOOD CAMs are a rare breed. I myself can't think of one that can come in and change our game or someone who is available. Last window we went mad after one who actually could have made a difference in Mkhitarian (don't care if i got the spelling wrong he is gone ). Now can't really think of one that is available or someone we can get.
However, there is an interesting similarity in most of the names we are being linked with, as in most of them can play in multiple positions across the front 3. A trait BR has been repeatedly looked into in our targets.
But as of now we haven't been linked with an out an out CAM.

David Anderson @MirrorAnderson 5m
Mohamed Salah could be Liverpool's first signing of the January transfer window. The deal is progressing well.
Mirror aren't reliable but still . .

Red Alert wrote:21 seem's like another inexperienced kid if I'm honest with you. If he truly was "already" a player, we wouldn't be the only one interested. That's not to say he hasn't got potential, but we already have potential in this team. We need experience now. So again, unless the committee is 100% sure Salah is ready to help fight for the title / finish in a CL spot I'll be against it.
He's not a kid. He's already torn likes of Walker/Ivanovic/Criscitso a new asshole in European competitions.
Much rather have Salah coming off the bench or start games than likes of Moses/Aspas.

This time last year, people were complaining signing Coutinho would hinder Suso/Shelvey's development.
We always make our best signings in January anyways (Carroll aside), so I am more relaxed than usual.

Noticed Red Alert saying on RAWK that he's worried that Spurs and Chelsea fans don't rate him and think he lacks a final ball.
Who cares about those idiotic, tory loving utter c*nts and what they think. They all thought Sturridge is shit (to be fair, so did Red Alert).
The lad is lightning quick, has good movement and can score. He's already played in high pressure international games, so he's not a kid who'll need to "adapt" or settle in.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
So, Salah looks a done deal, I gather? Exciting to see a new, possibly thrilling player! However, I've been really impressed by Sterling and want to see him getting more games even if a new big money winger arrives.
A CM next, please.

I don't even know how good or bad Salah is
No hyping needed just, I'm not even sold on him yet. If we do sign him hopefully it's right on the 1st/2nd of Jan so that he can play in the FA Cup match a la Sturridge last season.

Yeah, I don't think anyone ever said that. Maybe on RAWK, wouldn't surprise me honestly. Would be equivalent to be like saying let's not sign Cristiano Ronaldo, he'll hinder Henderson's development. Two different players, in two different positions.

Let me just be clear here. I've stated IF HE CAN IMPROVE US NOW, for him to sign for us. If he's ONE FOR THE FUTURE, then NO I don't want him. I want CL football. If Salah can help achieve that, bring him in.
What you post is taken way out of context. I said FC BASEL FANS said he was lacking a final ball. SPURS AND CHELSEA FANS ALSO STATED/AGREED that his final ball is poor when he played against them. We already have Hendo, Coutinho, Allen and Sterling that can't shoot. If Salah's another, then I don't want him now. If we get into Europe, and have more games to offer next season, then bring him in in the summer.
Don't think any Chelsea fans wanted Sturridge sold to us or claimed he was shit. I was against the signing, and he's proved me wrong. Good on him. But to be fair, he's done a "180" in his progress and is motivated to show that City / Chelsea losing faith in him was a mistake.
Of course he's going to have to "adapt and settle in". He's 21, probably can't speak English, or very little English, he isn't just going to adapt STRAIGHT AWAY. The only way he'll do that is with consistent games. And if his final ball is lacking, that might put our position of fighting for a top 4 spot (SEVEN TEAMS TRYING TO GET IN) in strife.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
Wasn't referring to reliability of the news, but rather "Basel fans think his final ball is poor and he's not quiet ready, it worries me" comment. From Australia.
Just seen your post on RAWK.
Firstly, RWO on here said it. (His finishing is 'average'.)
Secondly, I'm not sure if you know what "Reddit" is, but FC Basel fans were commenting on the prospect of Salah joining Liverpool when his friend said in an interview that it's "99%" done. I'll try find the link for you.
Okay, so I can't find the original thread (which was like earlier this month), but I found this.
http://fr.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1ta5jr/salah_to_liverpool_seems_close_to_being_a_done/
Well I'd say Salah is Basel's best midfielder. Stocker is also very good but he seems to need the right people around him on the pitch and ever since his failed deal with Schalke he's been kind of out of form. Back to Salah.. As you said international he is absolutely top class. Why? Because the teams in the CL or EL don't play as defensive as the Swiss Teams. His key skill is his speed and that is absolutely useless if a team defends with 9 or 10 men. He said himself that he feels better in international games as he has much more space and the game is more open. I think Salah being the better player than Shaqiri is wrong. Shaqiri was much more of a complete Player when he left Basel. Salah still lacks a bit of ball control and sometimes his finishing is just poor. But he's getting there
You're absolutely right. Salah is made for the fast game and counter attacks. That's why I think he'd only do good in the BPL. La liga or Bundesliga wouldn't fit his play style and he'd be lost. No doubts Shaqiri was and is a better player than Salah. No offense to Salah but damn Shaqiri is in my opinion the best player that Basel or maybe even the Swiss league ever had. He could play LB, CM, LM, RM, CAM and he was also a leader on the pitch. I'm sure he will have a great career and his time will come at Bayern. Would love to see him back in Basel sometime. As far as your team goes, I'm quite impressed by how you're doing. Honestly after your good first half season last year I thought you were not going to repeat that. But your coach plays a pretty good football and I enjoy watching your games because it's actually attractive. You deserved your EL campaign and I'm happy you're not one of the teams that only "parks the bus".

We ain't gonna line-up like that ever.. like I had said after the summer window when people were believing Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho and Moses/Aspas would all start together. We'll play with 3 proper midfielders.M99 wrote:Salah-Suarez-Coutinho
