Telegraph and Guardian are also quiet reliable but they too either wait too long or focus on too narrow targets. So is there any media where I can read about transfer rumors that are not fairy-tales!!!
Liverpool Echo comes to mind.
Edit. Oh, right, you mentioned it yourself, too x)
But I think the Echo report some LFC news that many of the other sites don't, at least not as early.

The most reliable sources are:
-Echo
-BBC
-Guardian
-Telegraph
-The Times (Tony Barrett anyway)
Rest should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
Salah seems to be the most common name on the internet being linked to us . .
Iturbe rumors are resurfacing again. .
Pedro rumors are there. . that sound utter rubbish!!
Shaqiri rumors are getting a little boring . .
But nothing at all solid or reliable up there in the rumor mills!!
However, one Echo article did suggest BR might look into strengthening the attack!
So, surprisingly its almost January and we know NOTHING!

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
Sorry Fahim. It looks like the club is actually keeping its cards a little closer to the chest nowadays. It's a good thing for the club, but it's less entertaining for journos and supporters.
Salah and Hughes are rumored to be effectively done, just waiting for the window to open for completion.
The other priorities seem to be:
Full-back: Montoya (Barca), Dodo (Roma), Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfburg), or Moreno (Sevilla)
DM:M'Villa (Rubin Kazan), Fernando Reges (Porto)
If we bring in four from that list, I will be pretty happy. It should address the major areas of need (a physical midfield presence, a reliable attacking full-back, and another attacking option), as well as tying up a very promising prospect.
The only real qualm I have is that we will likely have to spend a fair amount to get Hughes this window. I only wonder if it isn't a transfer that could wait for the summer. Then again, if the club feel that we need to move in order to secure his services (or get the best price possible).

Well keeping it near their chest resulted in Assaidi last time around and if results in Hughes this time that would be a killer! This team needs impact players RIGHT NOW! With such a brilliant position in the league we should rather look into ready players who could improve our team. Something BR seems to be saying too often then not.
M'villa rumors seems to be there just because he took a picture with Sakho
Agree Montoya's name has been thrown around very often! I guess BR is finally tired of Glenno's antics!
However bringing in 4 from that list does it really strengthen our team to challenge for top honors this year? Cause my question if and if you are so close during New Year, then why not try?

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
Can you guys shed some light on this Huges kid! Again we seem to be going for the future, but how good he really is! Is he as good (at present) as Suso or Raheem (at present)! If not it's really big WHY!
Salah, while better than Raheem, is still few years from being finished article. But he can, if the transition is smooth and swift, contribute in push for CL place.
Dodo is a surprise. Will Roma agree to sell considering they too like us are out of the woods after so long! But I know Rodgers is looking for more quality in the R/LWB areas.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
Again, had this discussion before so this is my LAST comment on it.
Transfer targets don't have to specifically be the for the exact some position... they can simply be meant to address certain issues. Costa and Mkhi would both have added another hard-working goal threat. Willian was a bit different but that was due to circumstances that arose. It's not bloody difficult to grasp but you seem intent on ignoring the other possibilities that don't line up to your personal interpretation, so carry on.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
Hard-working goal threat doesn't mean same position, though. And again, I'm not ignoring anything. I'm stating fact. (Insert Rafa jgp here.) How do you expect to fit Suarez, Sturridge and Costa on all on the same field?
We had full belief we were getting Mkhitaryan, and that stalled with the whole 3rd party thing / him eventually joining Dortmund, and we had not knowing what to do after we missed out. He went to Dortmund before August.
Our next target was Costa, who let's face it, didn't even want to come and wanted to stay in Spain. He stated from the very beginning he was happy at Atletico Madrid and to play under Simeone, and signed a contarct a few days after we were interested.
It wasn't until the very end of the window where we went for Willian. If these "targets" were targeted before hand, we would of went for them earlier. But we left it until very late in the window after a promising start.
Anyway, no point going into it if you're not going to respond... so I'll talk about Salah.
Am I the only one against it? From everything I've read, he's basically very talented with no real 'final touch' on him. He sounds exactly like Sterling. I don't know about you people, but I'm happy with Raheem. 12m for a player that's no better than we already have would be a waste imo. Especially when it's another "youth" player we need to groom. :S

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
Can see Alonso going to Juventus as Pirlo's replacement but I think he'd be PERFECT in the role Lucas is playing right now. (WHO'S NOT PLAYING AS THE DM) Won't be surprised if we look at him with Madrid stalling on his contract.
Like Juventus going from 7th to 1st with an experienced DLP (Pirlo), we can do it with Alonso.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
50/50 with Salah to be honest.
If he can improve the starting XI and help fight for CL/ the league get him in. If he's another one for the "future" I'll be against it.
We need mature / experienced players.

Salah would be a useless signing.. waste of space and money. Get Jorginho/Rakitic or someone ffs.

I say bid 30m and get Hamsik in. Napoli will obviously reject, but let's hope Rafa says otherwise and we go on to win the league.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
I'm fine with Salah's age, a 21-year-old should be old enough to play at this level or then he's never going to be quite good enough for us.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
21 seem's like another inexperienced kid if I'm honest with you. If he truly was "already" a player, we wouldn't be the only one interested. That's not to say he hasn't got potential, but we already have potential in this team. We need experience now. So again, unless the committee is 100% sure Salah is ready to help fight for the title / finish in a CL spot I'll be against it.

A 21-yo can be ready to improve us, like Coutinho is. However, I've never seen this Salah dude, so I have no idea is he good enough.

I think Salah will be an upgrade over Raheem. Not by much, but an upgrade nevertheless. I think it's impossible to get Jorginho or Rakitic in this window.

Re: Winter Window || Jan 2014
If we go by that logic, then there are a lot of players in the world who will be upgrade to one or the other squad member. Sterling will not even be a first teamer once Sturridge returns (well, if he continues his current form, THEN he may well oust Coutinho from his starting place). We shouldn't spend money just for the sake of it, especially on players who are not guaranteed to be first teamers straight away.

If Studge returns and gets on form, I can already see Allen or Lucas dropping to the bench and fornt three of
Studge, Sterling and Suarez
Hendo and Cou (the midfield two)
Lucas/Allen

btw whenever I am not very interested in a player, we generally sign him and mostly they come good....i was not very interested in Studge because of his selfishness, coutinho, suarez also because of his history well i am not so interested in Salah
well i was more interested in
