I just wanted to verify one of the stats, and you got it wrong in your data collection. Arjen Robben does not have 18 goals, rather 19 goals. This is assuming you include goals in International Friendlies, because Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 3 goals in International Friendlies (Holland, Croatia, Ecuador) in the year 2013.

Can someone please update these stats? I see a lot of people saying Ronaldo should not be considered for Ballon D'or. Or saying he has done nothing this year. And if I remember correctly, the Ballon D'or is for a calendar year, right? That's why Messi won for scoring 91 goals in one year.

Ronaldo was the first person in La Liga history to score 40 league goals in one season. That same season, he broke the La Liga record for goals scored. When he did that, Messi had never done it before. But that season people said Messi should win it because he won major trophies even though Ronaldo had outscored him. Then the next season, Ronaldo won La Liga while:

- Becoming the first person EVER to score more than 50 goals in 2 consecutive seasons (by the way, he's still the first person to have ever done those things).
- The first person EVER to score 7 hat-tricks in one season.
- The first person EVER to score against every team in one season.

These are all historical records he broke FIRST. And they still refused to give him the Ballon D'or. But when Messi breaks those records AFTER Ronaldo, then they are good enough to win the Ballon D'or.

People forget that in that season that Messi scored 91 goals, he chocked in the title decider against Madrid where Ronaldo won the title for Madrid. He also chocked against Chelsea when they were knocked out. In fact, that season, Ronaldo outperformed him in big games. Remember that year, Ronaldo winning La Liga wasn't good enough. But this season Messi winning La Liga IS good enough!!

When Ronaldo broke goal scoring records. It wasn't good enough. When Messi did, it WAS good enough.

That is what is meant when we say the criteria changes every year to suit Messi just because people like him more. Just admit it instead of talking shit.

first person to score against every team in one season? Messi broke that as-well except this time he did it consecutive.

not taking away anything from Ronaldo but those records are good but not 91 goals a season good.

and this is only talking about stats because honestly when you compare the two, stats is the only thing Ronaldo stands a chance at winning, but yet he still loses.
Ribery, and Messi are both more "complete" footballer then Ronaldo..
they are better at defending, passing, dribbling, Ronaldo shines greatly at scoring goals, perhaps one of the best finishers but thats mostly what he only shines in, he is a glorified poacher.

I doubt that. Bayern clearly do not need another wide forward -- if you can even call Cristiano that. They need an extremely hard-working creator, a combination you will rarely find in world football. Cristiano's best quality now is his goalscoring; Bayern evidently did not need a prolific goal scorer in order to win the quadruple. Funnily enough, the 2012/13 Bayern side are the only treble-winning team not to have a player score 25 goals in a season, and to have their top scorer not have 15 league goals in a season.
