he was crap in all the knockout rounds/ didn't play. my problem with him today wasn't the miss, it was a tight angle, i felt he should have passed (if that was cristiano who didn't pass to benz, the benz guardian would have went wild on here). my main problem was on many occasions down the left channel he slowed down our attack unnecessarily and kept losing the ball. link up play is supposed to be his main attribute but it was so off, and that's why i think zidane took him out.....isco too was terrible, oh my goodness. i thought isco was worse than danilo imo

Benzema, sigh. I really hope those Lewa rumours turn out be true. And yes, Isco was worse than Danilo.

So a stinker means we should ignore the otherwise good season he's had (and has generally had since he settled properly)?

He has his flaws, but I can't think of anyone I'd prefer over him. Maybe he should have crossed to Cristina, but if he's to find the killer instinct that so many people demand of him, he needs to also be selfish sometimes, which won't always work out.

It's also worth noting that none of the strikers on either team had a particularly great game. It just wasn't the sort of game that allowed attackers to be at the forefront.

there are times to be selfish, that angle was a bit tight to be selfish. i'd have said the same if it was bale or cristiano. i don't even think he was being selfish, t'was just a poor decision. as i mentioned, the miss wasn't even my main problem with him on the day....hell, we missed some good chances. for what its worth, cristiano wasn't good either

Having said that, if that is what benz does on a final, maybe it is time to find someone new. Benz had an average season. 28 goals. But <10 assists. is too low. And he suffered injury and loss of form since el clasico triumph. He needs to do better next year. I care not for goals, i care for impact and influence. both of which were missing on the cl final. He needs a better attitude as he walks too much.

But perhaps he hasnt fully recovered his hamstring. Or maybe its time we need to move on. A benz who lost his touch needs to go. Loses ball too easily and cant hold it up well today. Truly concerning.

Lewandowski can piss off. I want quality, not an overrated snake who is slower than Benz.

Would like to see Aubameyang or Hernandez. We need more speed upfront. But knowing Zidane, Benz will remain. Not a bad thing if he can rediscover his technique. But I am very concerned. Has Benz declined or will we see his better side next year?

Lack of form and lingering injury issues for both Benz and CR... they gave the effort. They just couldn't be ready for this game the way they wanted to be. Rusty as can be. Unlucky too tbh.

Yeah you're probably right. Keep forgetting that hamstring thing.

Hopefully next year will be better in terms of rotation.

yeah I agree with most of you guys. Benzema is a liability now. But I'm way too happy to start the criticism now. Let's just enjoy this for now.
