Yeah. And as physical strength and stamina become more and more emphasized in footy... it's just going to become less tolerable. You can't get away with having an unhealthy lifestyle anymore.

Mustafa Özil, the father and agent of Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Özil, reportedly made €7 million in agent’s fees from Mesut’s €45 million transfer from Real Madrid to Arsenal at the close of the summer transfer window this past summer.

According to El Confidencial Digital, Mustafa charged the 15% fee for the transfer and also required that all teams interested in acquiring the services of the German international (Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal) pay an additional amount in addition to Real Madrid’s agreed upon transfer fee, which Mustafa would then keep for himself.

The report goes on to add that Real Madrid met with Mustafa and Mesut at the end of the 2012/13 season with the intention of negotiating a contract extension past his then current deal, which expired in 2016 and raise Özil’s salary from €3.5 million.

However, Mustafa demanded that Real Madrid double his wages (€7 million per season) and extend the contract until July 2019, at which Real Madrid refused and ended negotiations, which eventually led to Mustafa shopping his son around and finalising the transfer to Arsenal.

I think the clubs really should go through with the suggestion that was made by some club official last year - to have the players pay their agents' fees. After all, these guys are not club employees, but employed by the players, so the players should be responsible to pay them, not the clubs.
