Except Athletic's Urrutia bullied the whole Bayern organization into submission, by having them sell what was above his current worth. This was all despite the fact that Javi had chosen to stay (with an open-mind). Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Hoeneß & Sammer were driven near mad since Urrutia is a notorious bad-ass when it comes to such matters. Outmanoeuvred them all and sold the player for an absurd sum of money.

Not to take anything away from Javi, as in Bayern he has not only justified that price, yet justified that he is worth that much.

You don't go in Bilbao thinking you can steal their players. You'll come out war-torn and battle hardened. Ask Sammer.

I think the bid is a feeler more then anything, something to start with to see what Bilbao's reaction is to selling him, rather then us trying to "steal" him. His buyout clause is €36,000,000.....I don't think a €30,000,000 initial bid is offending anyone and is a reasonable opening bid, show's we have serious interest in the player. I don't think we will have any issue paying the full €36,000,000 if he is the player we decide we want, and with are Fellaini and Baines bids being turned down again reported in the last hour or so...he might become our main target.
