MIGNOLET you BEAST!
When I saw that graph that Walters had shot his last 5-6 penalties to the same corner I was praying Migno Mango was aware of it AND MAYBE HE WAS, MAYBE HE WASN'T, BUT WHAT A DOUBLE SAVE!!!
We wasted so many chances that anything but a win from this one would have felt depressing to no end, but now it's happy happy happy!

ohhhhhhhhhhh mmmmmmmmmmmm gggggggggggggg
the last hangover was not completely over, and another robbed inside my head. I think all the 45k fans in the stadium and including us were nervous for that last few minutes, but suddenly penalty awarded and savvvvvvvvvvved. Surely change of tides at anfield...

You can be certain that Mignolet would have been updated on Walters' penalty habits. I did like his bounce to mess with Walters before the pen though... hopefully there's a gif made of that. The penalty save capped a good second half display by Mignolet and was the perfect cap after a rather nervy first half.
Anyone else impressed with Toure's display? He looked exactly like what we'd hoped when signing him... intelligent, strong, and comfortable in the system. He also looked mostly comfortable defending Stoke freekicks, which is a nice change of pace for us.

Toure, damn aggressive defending by him, what steal for free really!!!
From preseason I had this confidence in him, Toure will be great for us...

Yeah Toure could be the best free signing we've ever made, and one of the best signings of the season.

Yeah, I admit, Toure was good, also hit the bar with a header, but it was only Stoke at home, who have never scored at Anfield in the Prem and I'd still rather have Skrtel there, but it was a promising display from the guy and he looked like he really wanted to win.
Coutinho tried to dribble a bit too much, but his passes were genius once again.
Agger's penalty-conceding hand-ball was just so bad, but Migno Mango came to the rescue.
Sturridge looked really good, Aspas was OK. I wasn't happy with Lucas' fouling because we can so easily concede from those free-kicks, but all in all, just so very happy with those three points... Damn, maybe it's got something to with us not winning our season opener for, what, 4-5 years, but I just can't remember when I would've been this joyful about the season finally starting...

I was wondering how long it would take someone to pull out random excuses to write away a great performance by Toure.

Also if anyone is interested Suarez was walking round the pitch with Delphina an hour before the game. Looked happy enough, and got a good reception from the few of the fans.
