I didn't see him put a foot wrong, he was there time and time again. Made numerous blocks and was our best defender the entire game.

I am serious. He made some really important blocks and interceptions.

FFS with the way our defense was set up, he would have been even more awful if he didn't make the blocks he made. Time and time again not closing up on players. Time and time again letting Ribery take shots through his legs, until Oscar came to help out on Ribery(Oscar ffs!). The only reason Mandzukic wasn't a factor in the match was because of Luiz(who despite being rash at times, was in his ear the whole night). The worst was Bayern's 2nd goal. You lot seriously watched that and thought he was world class?

I don't believe Cahill was to close down fast as it would have left holes to run into, I think Jose wanted him to hold his line until they took the shot so that no gaps were created.

You want him to stop the ball going through his legs? that happened like once and had the shot been on target the ball would have hit his legs. Oscar and the wingers had to help out because of Ivanovic and Alaba overlapping, not Cahill's fault.

Mate, watch that 2nd goal again and you'll see how awful his positioning is. He keeps getting a pass while the likes of Luiz get trashed at the slightest opportunities. Ivanovic is no angel in this either.

Worst player on the pitch had to be Ramires. Only fitting that he topped it with that stupid red card.

Good match, anyway. The trophy itself means fck all but the opposition was quite significant. Would have loved to see this young team win but oh well. Still a lot of positives to take from this.

Ivanovic was rather horrible at times. I would have said he was our worst defender. I didn't see much wrong with Luiz' performance but I felt Cahill was better.

I was willing to turn a blind eye to Cahill but leaving Martinez all alone for that goal was just unforgivable. Really bad.

I felt that was more in Ivanovic's area tbh.

Cahill was the closest defender to Martinez and he went farther away from him.

But Martinez was on the right side of the pitch, where Ivanovic should have been.

Ivanovic should have done better but Cahill had him covered(actually holding on to him) before letting him go and getting caught in no man's land.

Couldnt watch the game because of work but im recording a replay of it so ill be sure to watch that. From what i can gather from here, if the supposed best team in the world needs ET and a shootout to beat a 10 man Chelsea then this is going to be a very good season for us.

Also i must say Torres' finish for the first goal was GOAT, credit must be givne where due, although how was he over the rest of the game?
