Which player do you think will have the best season?
Serie A Scout Watch 13/14
So here starts another season, a different one in Serie A that is, many teams have changed and many players have come and some have left. Clubs have added star power to there team (Higuain - Napoli , Tevez- Juventus, Gomez- Fiorentina) while some high profile players have left there team (Jovetic- City, Marquinhos- PSG). But, behind all the star signings and all the star selling', Serie A boast something that many leagues may be jealous of:
The foreign and national young talent in Serie A.
The point of this thread is to discuss and follow the progress of the U-23 players in Serie A and any European competitions they may be participating in.
Last season's thread: http://www.goallegacy.net/t24165-the-serie-a-young-talents-thread
Here are the top 10 U-23 players in Serie A atm in my opinion.

Re: Serie A Scout Watch 13/14
I voted for Balotelli. Dude shifted to a net level for both national team and club after transfer to Milan and I don't see his fire extinguishing. Great job on the poll and thread Casciavit One thing that is a bit sad is lack of young defenders with the exception of De Sciglio after Marquinhos' departure to PSG (might as well name this future PSG legends thread )
Some more promising youngsters to look out for (all 23 or under):
Miralem Pjanic-Roma-Bosnia & Herzegovina
Mattia Destro-Roma-Italy
Allesandro Florenzi-Roma-Italy
Tin Jedvaj-Roma-Croatia
Kevin Strootman-Roma-Netherlands
Ricardo Saponara-AC Milan-Italy
M'baye Niang-AC Milan-France
Andrea Poli-AC Milan-Italy
Simone Zaza-Sassuolo-Italy
Ishak Belfodil-Inter Milan-Algeria
Manolo Gabbiadini-Sampdoria-Italy
Jorginho-Hellas Verona-Brazil/Italy
Nicola Sansone-Parma-Italy
Nicolas Lopez-Udinese-Uruguay

Kovacic. The kid is seriously class. Be prepared for him to do a "Gundogan" and everybody will rate him as one of the best CM's in the world pretty soon.

Re: Serie A Scout Watch 13/14
Agree, Kovacic is brilliant. He will be best midfielder of Serie A alongside Pogba in a few years (inb4psgbuyshim) and I sincerely hope Inter does not screw up with him like they did with Coutinho. Mazzari has a bed record with youth but with Kovacic, Belfodil, Icardi that's too much talent to ignore. Inter gonna finish much higher than 9th this season I can guarantee you that.

Re: Serie A Scout Watch 13/14
Jealous ? Casciavit pls.
They are plenty of great young talents in other leagues such as Bundesliga for example.
Nice introductory post though
Anyways like i said in that other thread, watch out for Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi.Seems like a fine young talent.I mentioned Kurtic too but he's already 24.
Sassuolo as a team play a very exciting brand of football infact.I think they're worth a watch this upcoming season.

Great post Cas
As for the one who's going to have the best season, i'm going with Insigne. Already Rafa expressed his love for the player and stated that he will get the best out of him

Re: Serie A Scout Watch 13/14
Well this poll is just unfair lol. Balo, despite still being young, shouldn't be here.
Anyways, I'm expecting De Sciglio to step it up in order to claim his starting spot with the national team, he has all the cards in place to do so. He mainly has to practice that first touch onto his left foot and his crossing, after that he'll be good to go.

For surprise/breakout performance of the season, hopefully I'm not jinxing it but I'm banking on Roma CB, Tin Jedvaj, our fastest center back at this point in time.

Insigne will break out and shine under Benitez. I expect him to reach new heights under a manger who is known for playing youth.
Re: Serie A Scout Watch 13/14
Thanks all
Personally think Kovacic and Insigne will both have great seasons.

Luis Muriel bagged a brace vs Siroki Brljeg in Udinese's 3-1 victory in the first leg of Europa League play off
Kingsley Boateng scored the winner in AC Milan's 1-0 victory against Sao Paulo in the Audi Cup. Andrea Petagna scored in the 5-3 defeat vs Manchester City where Stephan El Shaarawy also bagged a brace. Niang, Vergara, Cristante, Poli and Pacifico played for Milan too.

Petagna linked up extremely well with ES, sending him on goal. Has been really good in this cup, there are even murmurs that they might give him the #9 shirt
Cristante distributed nicely against Sau Paulo although he did get caught a couple of times

Theirs more too Pacifico for defence(played really well a lot of composure) but I highly doubt he will make the senior team this season.

Re: Serie A Scout Watch 13/14
@M99 I didn't see icardi in the game but for a couple of instances in the first half as chelsea played us off the park, he did score an offside goal though...
Jesus played and he was fine, just needs to be more composed cuz he's a bit wreckless, other than that Belfodil played the last 15 minutes and showed flashes of trickery
Oh and keep an eye on Olsen, a regista with an awesome pass, hope he gets more playing time. Kovacic unfortunately didn't play as he's still injured

Lamela's move to Tottenham is imminent.
The Milan youngsters didn't do very well. They were quite disappointing.
Albertazzi played well for Verona, today.

Re: Serie A Scout Watch 13/14
Weekly news regarding youngsters:
Insigne has signed a new and improved contract for Napoli which will make him stay until 2018 and he'll be earning €700,000 per campaign, plus bonuses. For anyone wondering why he didn't start, it was because he was suffering from an illness earlier during the week.
Seems like Lamela really doesn't want to leave Roma, some reports are claiming that he was crying while saying his goodbyes. But Roma are sort of forcing a move since they apparently need money..? He'll be having his medical on Thursday.
Ljajic to Roma is official. He'll be Lamela's replacement but he will be playing LW and Gervinho will move RW. Disappointed that we missed out on him. But was always going to be likely since Fiorentina are mad at our supposed way of trying to get him earlier this summer.
Milan are getting linked with Eriksen, I assume we would make a serious move for him if we beat PSV today. If we do buy Eriksen where will that leave Honda? Also with the cash injection we get from possibly qualifying, I expect us to make a serious move for Sakho unless Roma buy him.
Alexander Merkel really wants to leave Udinese, his reasons are that the Guidolin doesn't really see him as starting material. He said if Hoffenheim were to make a move for him he would accept.
According to his agent, Obi will not be leaving Inter.
Fiorentina have signed U21 Croatian intentional Ante Rebic.
Inter have signed Saphir Taider, from Bologna.
Juve's Boakye may be heading to Spain..?
Also y'all should keep an eye out on Kingsley Boateng. Seems like the coach really likes him and I think he'll be a starter this season.
