Matri is a bomber! Look at his volley van bastan like goal vs chievo last seasion. He has a better attitude than quag. We have better players than quag now BUT NO OTHER PLAYERS LIKE MATRI. LLORENTE IS NOT AS PACEY AS MATRI...you can say the tevez is an upgrade of quag that is muuuuuuch better than him. As I said we need a vice llorente = maaatri . Vuci and seba are good enough together as we saw last season
Um, Matri goal vs. Chievo or a Quags goal vs. Chelsea? I think I know who I would keep if I had to pick one based on goals from last season. Matri is just ok. If we want a big body just bring back Luca Toni or keep Anelka... just kidding. Really though, we could come away with potentially 25m in sales for both players. We could easily either use that money to buy a cheap experienced backup for much less than 10m or we could invest it in a young player.
Like I said, Quags value is only going to go down and Matri may also go down playing another season as our fourth or fifth striker. Just because Matri is a classic number 9 striker in terms of size, does not mean that Conte will be using him regularly to rest Llorente. I would still expect Conte to go with Vucinic or Gio and change the tactics.
The market is high on both players and we should act now.

Devi just put everything I wwanted to say here
Quag will get too old then his price will decrease. His performance will not increase by a lot this season as there is more competition. If you realize only teams that have a stable formation win the league (less rotations in main matches). When in fm 13 I started putting different players upfront I started drawing matches. There has to be good chemistry between the front two so we can win matches.

What made no sense that Quagi is the same type of player like Giovinco,Vucinic,Llorente,Tevez? Really ?
Matri gave us the tittle last year with his goals against Milan and 10 goals in first months. But that's stupid comparations, Quags is past he is not the same player and yes it makes sense Quagli is 30 if we don't sell him now we will never recoup large sum of the money or some of the money later and he'll turn into Amauri, Matri is 28 there is huge difference plus we are stocked in Quagli's positions in terms of similar players
Devi what is funny about that list of players you made is that it is the same list as last season except now we have Llorente and Tevez. We survived for much of last season without a starting classic #9 player and now we signed a quality one in Llorente. So, if we played much of last season without a #9 starting, Matri on the bench, and an emergency #9 like Anelka, why is it so urgent that we keep Matri this season? I just don't see the importance or the big difference of having Matri over Quags. Conte's tactics are flexible to work with the players he has.

The reason why we bought a classic #9 is because we need them to score goals. This is why last season we saw less goals from matri. He didnt plaY that much!

Re: Premier League bids for Juventus duo
Has no one been listening to Arq? He's probably watched more of LLorente than most of us. He gives off the impression LLorente is not infact a classic #9 and more of a creative and clinical allround forward who happend to be built like a tank.
Another reason why IMO Matri will not be needed, even as a back up. I agree with Juventude about selling both Matri and Quags and investing in a young player that has already shown potential. What wages are both player on anyone? I'm postive the 4-5mil (probably) in wages that we save will be worth it too.

So, if we played Matri more, we would have scored way more goals? I highly doubt it. Matri just isn't that good. The 2011-12 Matri is a good representation of how good he is rather than the 2010-11 Matri. We scored less goals because our forwards just weren't that good last season.

I guess I just don't value Matri as much as you, Devi, as a CF. I just don't think he's that good and I'd rather get money for him soon because he is only going to go down in value. I don't want to keep him just for the sake of having a classic CF on the bench.

I am not saying he is better than Quagli its like having 6 apples and 1 pear and you know you have to many apples but still you sell the pear lol

The pear is rotten and is no longer any good and someone is offering me money for it, so I'll sell it and buy a new ripe one.

Re: Premier League bids for Juventus duo
People forget that we don't need a #9 on top of Llorente. We were much better last season with Giovinco and Vucinic together than any other pairing. If we can get a substantial amount more for Quays than Matri, then I would say keep Matri sell Quags, but otherwise I say definitely sell Matri. When Matri is in his preferred formations like 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 hes still only on Quags' level, not above, whereas Quagliarella has done well in Juventus' preferred formations. More versatile, better all around footballer, and is Napoletano like me. Keep Quags as the fifth striker unless we could bring in another good or even top one like Gabbiadini or of course Ibra.
And to the people saying sell Giovinco, stop being ridiculous. The kid showed he has serious potential at Parma and there's no reason he couldn't replicate that at Juve. Don't forget that even Zidane didn't do well in his first season at Juve. He obviously still needs to adapt and learn thar he doesn't have to everything himself like he had to at Parks. And once he learns that he could be a top class player. There's a reason that even Pepcelona was interested in him.

Re: Premier League bids for Juventus duo
I'd definitely sell them both
That leaves Llorente, Tev, Vucinic and Giovinco
Then if we have to, we can just loan somebody in or even promote somebody we already have.
22M for two strikers that we don't want and are both close to 30
That's solid business.

Re: Premier League bids for Juventus duo
Look im with toms idea and agree that gio is good enough as juventude said. There is no way that we sell him. We should give him more chances. He needs some time to realize where he is now. Juve not parma anymore.
@tom: All of us would love to see someone young like giabba beltrame or even boakye given a chance but we all know its impossible that conte does that. Maybe once in every 30 matches? Beltrame really imprrssed in 15 minutes. That wouldnt happen even if we sold both matri and quag

Nah I get they wouldn't be playing much, but I mean if we desperately needed a 5th option, i'd rather pocket 22M to re-invest elsewhere and play youth as an emergency instead of holding on to players who will not rapidly decline in value.

Re: Premier League bids for Juventus duo
I read that Juve rejected Levante’s bid to sign Boakye.
Boakye was invited to pre-season training. Frankfurt were interested in him also. Conte supposedly wants to assess him again before deciding on whether to either retain or loan him out. Boakye scored 11 goals for Sassuolo last season and helped them get back into Serie A.
Gabbiadini was farmed out to Sampdoria.
Immobile to Torino.
Zaza to Sassuolo.
So how come Richmond's future is still up in the air this late in the off-season? Makes me curious if they really think he could stay up with the big boys.

I'll escort Quagli and Matri to the airport if that means playing time for Boakye !

Lol. That's great.
In my fantasy world... Sell Quags and Matri. Then reinvest in Ljajic (who is apparently not coming to terms with Fiorentina on an extension.) I wonder what his market value would be? Any clues? I would guess around $20m but I could be way off. He's only 21 years old. 11 goals and 8 assists last season.
Let's say $12m for Quags and $15m for Matri... eh?
Matri had 8 goals + 2 Champs, 2 assist (both in Champs)
Quags had 9 + 4 in Champs, 3 assists (0 in Champs)
Unfortunately, Daniele Pradè hates us I think.
