 he was a 5m buy for Roma
he raised my expectations from youngsters too high , cant really compare because i haven't watched a single game from RM in last year and wont watch in next year or the year after (Unless they play against Roma or any Serie A teams) but Marcos is a goat in the making

Varane is a better tackler and faster. Marquinos is a better reader of the game and neutralizes things before they become problems. Would make the perfect partnership

Varane's game is entirely depended on reading of the game. Tackles? he barely make a tackle in a game and only use tackles as a last resort.Varane is a complete package, only thing he lacks is probably aggression which i hope Pepe teach him.

I was comparing their strengths relatively.

Varane can do everything Marquinhos can do and more. At the moment it's not even a competition.

Varane can be one of the best in the world, Marcos can be the best in the world, and he is already one of the best, Varane simple is not.

Come on dude u can't be serious. The difference is so big it's not even funny. Varane is up there with Thiago Silva. It's scary that he's so young and already so good. He only needs to be a bit more aggressive.

Is Varane even an automatic starter at Madrid? the # of appearances suggest not over the last two seasons. Crazy for anyone to suggest he is up there with T.Silva as the best CB in the world.

Automatic? He isnt even first choice period.

Great talent but everyone (except 1 lunatic) I think knows he has some way to go before we talk about him being one of the best.

I don't think that he is up there with T.Silva, but the number of appearences for Real Madrid might not be that much because he has had ALOT of injury problems.

Marquinhos is nowhere near Varane's level and i watch every game for both players...  i mean, it's a nonsense comparison.  Marquinhos has looked better to start this season.  He's not making as many big mistakes.  But come on.... there's a huge gap between his current level and getting to the level of a Varane  

Marquinhos doesn't even have the overall skill level to even get there tbh. There are certain instincts and physical abilities that i've rarely seen learned if you don't have them.

Marquinhos is in another level, is doing an  absurd  season.
Varane is the next David Luiz, often is distracted, his positioning sucks, did a bad world cup, and now is doing crap.

Marquinhos is by far better, will become the best in the world.

definitely varane, without a doubt. some of the comparisons i've been seeing here are just ridiculous, some players should not even be compared to others at this stage of their careers....at least not yet
