Honda is expected to arrive in January , but tbh , i have doubts after Kaka. Galliani said a fews days ago , it was him or Kaka . Although admittedly, i think that was just for August , yet i must say i have some doubts if he meant it long term. By January , if all goes well , Saponara will be back , unless i am missing something?

Where's Honda going to fit in ? We could interchange Honda and Kaka , but Saponara will inevitably suffer. I think we all wanted to see Honda in Milan , but things happened elsewise and i found myself thinking if Honda is still on the cards and if so , what his role is going to be..

Honda can play deeper in midfield. We actually have very little depth in midfield now too.

Honda can play deeper in midfield. We actually have very little depth in midfield now too.

I am perfectly fine if he does come to assume such a role. This might take some time to happen , given Honda is coming in the first place , yet i would like to see this. Admittedly , not in every single game , but i would yes.

Honda has a clever touch in his game and he has pretty good vision , though admittedly , my opinion is from the few times i've seen him play , don't have the full picture . I'd like to see him in Milan , despite some negative aspects in his game.

Having said all that , i feel by the time January comes , Poli will have his starting place in the bag. Not sure if Honda will like a sub role , especialy at his age.

Honda can play literally any position in the mid, I'm not worried for Saponara. I just want him to recover from his hernia before we start thinking about his position in the team. Didac Vila missed all last season because of it.

Honda can't play any position in midfield, this myth needs to end. He is extremely versatile and can play CAM, SS and even CF, sometimes as an attacking CM ala Seedorf role. He can't play CM or DM.

This.

Honda is too lax in his defensive duties to play as a CM or CDM. He also hates playing there, he has complained to his coach about it and he's a CAM/SS. He hasn't played as a CM since 2010 and that was in a 4-3-3 where the roles are different than in a 4-3-1-2.

Kaka is way to injury prone and old to be relied on. Honda will get loads of chances.

1. Honda is out of contract, so he's got to go somewhere. He is also a self-confessed Milan fan.

2. He would walk into our first XI. His competition in midfield is Muntari and Nocerino and his competition up forward is Matri and Niang.

Allegri likes to play a defensively competent, 3-man midfield, doesn't he? So there's Muntari, Nocerino, Montolivo, De Jong, Nocerino and Poli who will be vying for those three spots.

Honda will be used in advanced roles (since he's a much better forward rather than a midfielder) but even then there's no less competition: El Sharaawy, Balotelli, Niang, Kaka, Pazzini, Matri, Robinho. Might be missing a few others.

I, for one, will now be surprised if Milan actually make a move for Honda given that they bought Kaka and Matri in summer. They're also paying comparatively high wages for both of them.

Honda is better than Niang, Kaka and Robinho, easily.

Matri and Pazzini will be competing with SES and Balotelli, not Honda.

Actually. Honda's competition are only Saponara and Kaka, since he play in the AM role.

That idea was kind of abandoned after 2007, and made perfectly clear when T Silva and Ibra was kicked out.

Saponara was tried as a Regista vs Caen for a bit, looked good. I think he could actually do well there.

Our board has mentioned it many times and when it was announced Allegri would stay for this season, Berlu and Galliani both said we would be returning to a 4-3-1-2 and we will be playing with a TQ.

Honda's only competition is Kaka really. Saponara for all his hype won't get many games I think Birsa will start ahead of Saponara tbh. Even then, if your competition is with a 31 year old injury prone Kaka your chances are good.

And with Honda starting we can take 4-3-3 shapes during the game, his best role is a CAM/SS, but he has played as a RW before and drifts there regularly to try to cut in for CSKA.

I think the Spurs deal reported by Metro is bullocks. Spurs don't even need him and there are 2 players that play in his position, Eriksen and Holtby. He would find it much easier to get in our starting 11 and it would give him a confidence boost that he will be given the #10.

If we are being forced into 4-3-1-2 by the moronic board, I wouldn't want Honda to sign for us.

I like the player too much for him to suffer in Milan.

It is better to sink while playing our own game than sink because papa-fuks-a-lot wants to see Kaka play in his usual role.

The formation was announced back in July with Honda and Saponara in mind. Kaka was a last minute buy since CSKA did not sell Honda to us in the summer.

Lets get one thing straight, if we get Honda then he would instantly slot in the team, or at least he should.
