Report: Giaccherini to Sunderland
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Emanuele Giaccherini is on the verge of moving from Juventus to Sunderland.
Their interest in the midfielder is well known and intensified after his strong performance for Italy in the Confederations Cup.
An initial €8m offer had been turned down, but when the bid was raised above €10m the negotiations began in earnest.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport this evening, Sunderland are on the verge of completing the transfer for Giaccherini.
However, it is also reported that Paolo Di Canio’s club had an offer for Inter youth product Daniel Bessa rejected.
The 20-year-old Italian-Brazilian is an attacking midfielder who spent the last six months on loan at Vicenza, but suffered a knee injury.

Re: Report: Giaccherini to Sunderland
Vucinic + Giac sales would pretty much cover a straight cash deal for Jovetic.
If this is the plan, i'm all for it.

I agree. His stock is never going to be higher than it is right now. Plus, if a player like Kolarov comes. There is going to be a lot of competition for CM reserve positions.

Re: Report: Giaccherini to Sunderland
We must sell him now that his price is high because of his good apparences at conf.cup. 10-12 mln is great price plus if we can sell Vucinic for 15-17 we can have enough cash to buy Jovetic or Lamela.

One of Conte's favourite players to call upon but I'm sure an offer like this won't come around again. He doesn't start at Juventus, he won't start this year. It makes sense. But I must say, I slowly have grown to like him. Take Matri instead

I feel the same way. He really won me over with his hustle at Confederations Cup. His skills looked great, but his hustle alone was enough to make me love him. But 10m is the max we'd ever see for him.

Didn't Conte say as long as he is the coach of Juve that Giaccherini will remain with him?

Re: Report: Giaccherini to Sunderland
If the powers that be want to sell him for a great price, then they will.
I understand not wanting to let go of your star players, but if Conte doesn't allow 'depth' to be sold then he can never complain about not getting top talents.

Sell Padoin & De Ceglie first...
I think he'd strive under Di Cano but he'd just lose his spot in the National team!

Re: Report: Giaccherini to Sunderland
We will be lucky to get 6M combined for those two
If our bench player is the only thing in the way of having enough money to buy Jovetic, then I wouldn't think twice about selling him.
Also, I agree in theory we could raise the money from some of our worse players. But somebody has to actually want them first, nobody has shown any remote interest in either.

Re: Report: Giaccherini to Sunderland
Is he actually any good ? Seems to be compared to James Milner allot.
That has also been talk of us wanting to make it a double and by that Matri also.
But cant see his mrs wanting to swap italy for Sunderland.

If we sell De Ceglie Padoin and Giach we could raise a ton of money for Jovetic

very very underrated player. His tech is amazing, his dribbling skills and his legs never tire but his finishing is letting him down. LAst season after Pirlo he was the player who created most chances for our team. He can play anything LWB,LW,RWB,RW,CM,AM,SS,ST.
I've red that about Matri to I dunno about Matri but Giaccherini I am sure will accept transfer he is amazing guy and leaves his heart on the field.

He was playing in the like third division a few years ago. Played his way into Serie A, and eventually to Juventus as a utility player. Extremely versatile, which is why he made the national team despite not having a starting place at Juventus. He's a hustle player who does a bit of everything- showing his best as an attacker. The price, 8M or whatever, is extreme overpay though.

I don't think it is overpay come on we are speaking about the player who was second to only pirlo in creating chances in serie a and player who had GREAT confederation cup and was by far the best player for italy that raised his price he is worth 8 mil when u consider that tree Elia costed us 9mil

great player, one of the Marotta players I grew to fall in love with, very underrated but a very excellent chap,
can play lots of midfield positions including striker as well.......
very humble also [dude rode our bench for two seasons, yet always came on and impressed, never b*tched for play time]
would be very sad to see him leave, would rather Pepe and De Ceglie but if we can use the money to buy Jovetic then its all good
Sunderland will get very good player,
Giacherini will always be in our hearts....
ps: please get Padoin, Pepe, de Ceglie and Matri for us all for 35m, also Peluso too for an extra 5m......

That's exactly why he's overpriced. He's being bought because of his confederations cup performances. Don't get me wrong, he was excellent in the tournament. I just don't believe in buying players based on hyped tournament performances. Buying a player after a major tournament isn't really all it's made out to be. Elia was overpriced too, but was bought on potential. With giaccherini, what you see is what you get. I hope he does well in the premier league if this move happens and it's incredible business for juventus but personally I feel the price is too much

If Vucinic isnt sold,Giaccherini's sale would be used to fund the purchase of Diamanti or Bonaventura.
Cant say i'm all for it if thats the case.
