http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Manchester-City-Roque-Santa-Cruz-linked-Qatar-Al-Sadd-and-Sheik-Mansours-UAE-side-Al-Jazira-article760944.html#ixzz1RN0MPcva
Manchester City are ready to send Roque Santa Cruz to the Middle East – with owner Sheikh Mansour’s Arab club Al Jazira and wealthy Qatari club Al Sadd both keen to sign him.
The Paraguayan striker has struggled since his £17million move to City two years ago and now the two Arab outfits are preparing to take him as they bid to dominate the game in the Middle East.
Al Sadd are trying to agree terms to take Santa Cruz, who's currently playing in the Copa America.
However if they fail to thrash out a package to land the South American on his £90,000-a-week wages, he will be farmed out to Al Jazira instead.
Sheikh Mansour’s club are champions of the United Arab Emirates but want to conquer other cups in the area and Santa Cruz would be a massive capture for them.
Santa Cruz is also the kind of good-looking, clean-cut character who would help Al Jazira’s image - and the standard of football in the UAE may help him regain his form and goal touch.
City have been looking for new homes for Santa Cruz since he returned from a poor loan spell at former club Blackburn.
It will be hard to find a deal for him without taking a major financial loss.
But the wealthy City owners could now find a new use for Santa Cruz with their ‘other’ club and get some value for him while also putting him in the shop window.
Awesome :lol!:
