It's obviously very easy to say this after the fact, but I really did think that he would screw it up. He did not look confident at all.

Re: Bonucci
Somebody had to miss a penalty eventually. I nominate this thread as the most idiotic one in 2013.

Re: Bonucci
when you make it that far down the list and you're a defender i'd be more shocked if the player scores lol.

Re: Bonucci
Ramos nearly cleared the stadium, Bonucci put a standard miss in.
Bad penalty, from a CB, in sudden death after 120 minutes... Not a spectacular miss.

Pointless thread is pointless though. I mean, I didn't find anything funny about this, a bad penalty.izzy wrote:Tomwin Lannister wrote:Ramos nearly cleared the stadium, Bonucci put a standard miss in.

Re: Bonucci
when it got to Italy defenders..i was sure either Bonucci or Chiellini would miss.
his job is not to take penalties. he is a brute player..not technical gifted...that just learned how to properly pass two years ago..when conte took over (before he was blasting the ball to narnia)
it's like putting a striker in goal to save a penalty and then criticize him for conceding the goal.

Re: Bonucci
I'm sure when Bonucci wakes up and thinks about the miss the night before in the Confederations cup it will be on his mind for about......
2 Minutes
It's the Confederations cup not the World's or the Euro's.

well put.
leave the guy alone man. the p*ssy to be blamed here is Giacc. hes the one that had to go and take the kick and he didnt 'feel like it' thats what he said.
Bonucci went up to the spot regardless and took one for the team.

No,he wont,he'll think about it for a good amount of time because no matter how much you fanboys deny it,All the teams take the Confederation Cup seriously, yes even Italy.

Re: Bonucci
I'm pretty certain the reaction would have different if it were Ramos or Pique. Bonucci misses a crucial penalty and it just does not have any zing to it. Like a shrug of the shoulders and the thought "Was expecting this actually". I'm pretty sure he feels guilty for lot more than 2 minutes but he'll get over it. If Baggio (eventually) got over it, I'm sure Bonucci can...

why should they? the confeds cup is a warm-up to the world cup. everybody knows thats. u go there to test players, tactics etc. for sure u dont wanna get blown out every game. u play the game. but if u win yayyyyy, if u lose oh well ok lets correct what we did wrong and next year when it counts we come back better. why should he mourn over this lol? i know i wouldnt. but i would come out like a beast when it counts though. Italy gave Spain a TORRID time yesterday, minus balotelli. and im 100% certain ES is carrying an injury. hes played 10 min in 4 games lol. so they can leave brazil now saying, boy oh boy next year we can do it. we do actually have a chance! thats what the confeds cup is all about and nothing else. let those 2 battle it out for that bad-luck, bad omen trophy just to show u how much the italians care about this cup, im sure they will lose on sunday vs uruguay, and then just like that all 'you fanboys' who love to hate on Italy will be back and say i knew Italy was lucky vs Spain, bla bla bla.

Re: Bonucci
Emanuele Giaccherini has revealed he should have stepped up to take Italy’s crucial seventh penalty against Spain instead of Leonardo Bonucci.
The latter made the decisive mistake from the spot in the shoot-out, after the Confederations Cup semi-final ended 0-0, by blasting his effort over the bar.
“That penalty should have fell to me,” the Juventus midfielder, whose side lost 7-6, told La Repubblica. “However, I didn’t feel like taking it and I asked Leo to have a go instead.”
Bonucci, a teammate of Giaccherini in Turin, has admitted that the movement of Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas was a factor in his error.
“When I understood that Casillas was going in the right direction, I wasn’t cool enough,” the former Bari centre-back stated.
“I changed the way I was going to kick the ball, I tried to lift it, but you all saw what happened.
“Now I’ll spend the next year practicing penalties because I wouldn’t want the same kind of thing to happen at the World Cup again next year.”

Re: Bonucci
Probably the best CB in Europe atm, he's got it all, passing, defensively solid, literally everything, its amazing if you think about how far he's come since his earlier years, i'll be honest i never thought he'd amount to much. I'd be lying if i said i'm not jealous.
