LFC Preseason Thread

Don't know if a thread exist already or not.

But we have most of our preseason matches scheduled and confirmed.

Preston North End vs Liverpool || July 13
Indonesia XI vs Liverpool || July 20
Melbourne Victory vs Liverpool || July 24
Thailand vs Liverpool || July 28
Liverpool vs. Olympiacos || August 3
Valerenga vs. Liverpool || August 7
Celtic vs Liverpool || August 10

That looks like a lot of traveling before the season even starts. Last season we only had 4 preseason matches, 3 in North America and 1 at Anfield. I'm very excited though bounce

That's a lot of games, but hopefully it gives enough time for BR to figure which of our young boys will stay or go out on loan. Also gives some time for our new players to get some time to gel and adapt to our system.

It's outrageous that our squad will get back together in 26 days for training on July 2nd when the season barely ended. I hope we don't strain the players too hard by restarting so soon.

But tbh I'm not one to complain, no football has left a huge hole in my life Sad

We'll be fine.

Majority of the players will be rested into it and get back to fitness from the first BPL game.

If you remember at the start of Rodgers campaign, all of the players were going on about training is more ball-work rather than physical work. So I can see why Rodgers would want more than 4 games next season. We looked tired at the end of the games until about September. He'll want the players to be 100% ready for the first game of the season to run out a 90 minute game.

100,000 tickets sold for our match in Australia against Melbourne Victory in MCG! ! ohhhhhh that's something!! :bow:

This according to one of Ian Ayre's interviews. . . he also says similar scenarios are for some of the other games. cheers

The pain i went to get my lone ticket FML up at 9 am, Kop tcikets sold out in 1 minute, took 1 day to sell out, we love our reds down under. Sitting about 3 bays by myself from the aussie kop, ganna belt out YNWA banana

anyways, cant wait for the preseason to start and watch our new signings playing in red shirt, I hope our most of the signings will be done before that and I guess that is what BR has in mind, as soon as the transfer window opens, pen on the paper for all players Proud

But that fixture list seems to be really hectic, BR must be planning to book the whole A320 eco smile

Should have had a game with Monaco. They would have loved that exposure and might have paid us for the game.

I think the pre-seasons should be planned this way: One year the team goes for a world tour to raise profile etc. Next year play with European clubs at home & away.

I don't know about you guys but I love preseason friendlies. Especially when we have new signings involved. And we get the chance to see some kids get playing time with the first team.

Does anyone know who's been given extended holidays? I'd imagine Suarez and Pepe are the only two from the starting XI, no? Maybe Borini aswell?

yeah from the first team pepe and suarez. Couldnt find anything on Borini, so i guess he will join from the start only. Other than that coady and flano will join late

Suarez, Coates, Reina, Borini, Suso, Flanagan, ~~Wisdom~~, Suso, Coady, ~~Henderson~~ and ~~Shelvey~~ as well. I think.

EDIT: Wisdom is back hmm
