Nagoya score.
Defending has been pathetic since the 30' mark tbh.

Our midfield is Aneke-Jack and Zelalem playing up. Thats freakishly young and inexperienced, tbf! Jack is playing B2B.
Our defense is pathetic

Another FANTASTIC pass from Zelalem. Akpom missed the chance, after a brilliant run to get at the end of it.

If we don't sign a striker and Wenger gives an excuse that we have Poldi and Walcott, this is going to be my reaction:

Completely agree. Lets not throw him into the first team, I say give him two good seasons away from the Arsenal team.
1st year (current): Till January, let him stay at Arsenal. Learn and grow slowly. Then, if all goes well, send him to a league 1 club for probably the last three - four months of the campaign.
2nd year: Again, till January, let him stay at Arsenal, learning and growing, while getting the odd run out against a weak team in the Premier League and at least 20 minutes in the Capital One cup, or 60 minutes against a weak team. Then, if they feel he is doing well, let him go to a Championship club and play continuously there till the end of the season
3rd year: He should go out on loan to either a Premier league club or a Bundesliga club for the season. The club should give him ample playing time.
At least, this is what I would do if I was Wenger.

When people say put him in the first team they're not actually serious, it's a way of recognizing his talent.

lol you know some are serious
anyway, even though he hasn't played a second of senior football in his entire career, he is clearly the best through-baller at the club

=========================
Like Cesc did?
Give him games in the Carling and have him on the bench for PL.
Like Cesc.
He's quality. Nobody should ignore that.

Id like to think cesc is an example of how not to flog a youngster until he breaks. Hopefully we don't treat zelalem like cesc

Re: Arsenal Pre-season
Zelalem is so exciting to watch with those passes but I would rather he be introduced slowly into the first team. Let him play in the U18/U21 games; loan him out as needed. Give him time to grow and evaluate him at appropriate intervals to see when he's really ready. Maybe that'll be sooner than we think, or maybe he won't be truly ready for the step up for three more years. I'll wait.

Completely agree, I think he will spend the next 3 years playing youth and reserve football.

not 3, he is 17 now, in 3 years he'd be 20, Thats too old for the reserves. give him one year in the reserves, then next season he should be around the first team playing cup games, then we'll see if he needs a loan next year or can make the grade as a first team player for the 14/15 season .

Age-wise he is exactly the same point wilshere was during his first pre season. 16 and a half I think, will turn 17 sometime around new year

Yeah but Jack had the experience of professional youth football, Zelalem has just come out of school. The kid still has a lot to learn.

no i think he is going 17 soon, i heard the commentator say. 18-19 is the age that you should be breaking into the first to squad of your club, if you are not good enough by then you most likley wont make it. cesc and wilshere were starters at arsenal at around age 19.
