Official: Baldini quits Roma
Roma have officially terminated director Franco Baldini’s contract by mutual consent, leaving him free to join Tottenham.
The former England team manager had said over the last few days he was prepared to take the blame for the disastrous last two seasons.
“We thank Franco Baldini for his service to AS Roma over the past two seasons,” declared President James Pallotta.
“He played an important role in the launch of our project. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Now director of sport Walter Sabatini will be in charge of transfer negotiations, reporting directly to CEO Italo Zanzi.
“I want to thank the owners of AS Roma for the opportunity that was given to me,” added Baldini.
“I was very happy at Roma and wish the club, players and fans all the best.”
Baldini is now widely expected to take over as a director at Tottenham, where he was specifically requested by Andre Villas-Boas.

I wish Sabatini could follow him out
He is a decent person but the coaching failures made this inevitable , Hope he reach better ending at Spurs

I think this means Blanc is not coming. Baldini was the main negotiator with Blanc

well Making Mistakes is one thing , not having long term plan/Not following through Plans is another , First he Tried to combine Italian football with spanish-Tikitaka that failed , then he decided to go back in time and get zeman , to get Prandelli later when the contract ended (Or at least that's what i expected) but he didn't follow through that either and at the end its only chievo , Genoa and Roma who don't have managers yet , pure incompetence on his part
He haD the big sit to make big decisions and he failed miserably

Re: Official: Baldini quits Roma
Rather indifferent. He was brought back in a flow of nostalgia of his earlier days with Capello. Hard to create that same magic with only half of the dynamic duo and no Franco Sensi.
Grazie Franco.

Re: Official: Baldini quits Roma
Sadly another sign of failure from our organization. He left with dignity, admitting to his mistakes. Thank you Franco and good luck.
The problem is evident; too many people in this organization. It should have been Baldini's job to say "I'm in charge here" and have direct control over operations with no interference from Zanzi, Pallotta and Unicredit's Baldissoni, who let's not forget is still a huge player in our management.
Now the job goes to Zanzi and Sabatini, dear lord. Sabatini should only be in charge of scouting and signing players, nothing more since every time that he gets in front of a microphone he creates disaster. Lack of clarity at the moment over who has which responsibilities. And for someone who's specializing in management, myself, this is a fun project to follow. For a Romanista, this is a disaster.

Re: Official: Baldini quits Roma
apparently the reason behind Baldini getting forced to quiet was that he wanted more power that after zanzi appointment his role got weaker and I don't see any candidate to replace him either
