Like I said, Carlo won't be in charge till the 3rd. We've got a meeting with his agent next week, We could have the whole deal wrapped up before Carlo even sits his ass down in the managerial chair.

PSG are not getting rid of Carlo until they have a replacement, this is proving difficult for them as so many managers have rejected them. If they cannot find a new Manager, Carlo will remain at PSG for another year which means Madrid have to find a new manager. Only then will they start looking for new players. This could take a while.

Real are not out of the starting blocks. We are without a doubt, the front runners.

PSG are on the verge of appointing Laurent Blanc and with that, Carlo will be free to go. And even if they weren't, there's no way he'd be staying there next season.

Blanc's agent said in the press that a deal is yet to be struck, it's not on the verge of being completed.

Or he is focusing on the Confed's cup? We don't even know if a deal has been struck yet, All I am saying is we have 2 weeks on anything Madrid can do. We have the upper hand, we are the front runners.

FFP is for all of Europe. Do you think we'd be in this race if we couldn't afford it? We have a new tv coming in to play and just signed a 30m pound a season deal with Adidas. We can afford it.

Madrid have monstrous revenue, have the backing of Spanish banks, and are never in a million years going to be kicked out of playing in Europe anyway due to their status as a club. Chelsea aren't in that situation. The Adidas deal doesn't kick in until next season and the likelihood that we'd spend £54m on one player ever again is a fantasy. Even if there is a fee agreed, it's likely below that sum and if Madrid want to gazump us, they can and will at any time.

Chelsea have a billionare owner who could ask any of his billionare friends to through a massive sponsorship their way to pay for the transfer, just like City or PSG have done. If we want him, money won't be an issue.

No, I never said that. I simply said, if we want Cavani bad enough, we can make the money to get him, Money is not a problem for us, that is why we're still in the race for him.

I have always maintained I wanted Gomez because of his price and age, it would be the responsible buy but we are going for Cavani, so I support the decision.

We have Lukaku to step up in a few years so I imagine this will be our last big splash on a CF. We may as well make it while we can.
