Figo, Hierro, Helguera, Salgado, Makelele and Morientes were already completely out of it near the end of their career and couldn't contribute anymore.

Which is why they retired, also they are playing against fellow retired footballers.

Some perception needs to be had here, Zidane is the only one who could still compete at the highest level.

The rest there is a reason why they retired and ended up at the likes of Blackburn and Bolton towards the end

Actually PSG wanted to extend Makelele but he called it quits... he started 33 out of the 38 games in Ligue 1 before he retired that summer. A shame too. He still had it. Captain of the team and was bossing it.

PSG wasn't some shat team either... they finished 4th.
