Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
You can't name one error at CB by Luiz this year i can name about 5 a game when he's played CB. In fact, i stopped watching some games because he was making me so angry back there with his positional cluelessness. He almost ALWAYS gets caught out of position at CB. 10x worse than Pepe and Ramos at that. He only started lookong good when he was moved to DM. and btw, why do you think Rafa moved him to DM? it's because he was losing the few remaining hairs he had leaving Luiz at CB
If you want a CB who can make a nice pass and has a good shot... sure. Go ahead and buy Luiz. But it certainly shouldn't be for any defensive talent.
Pique-Luiz would be fantastic for Madrid

Luiz and Mata won't be moving this summer.
You can count on that.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
A mate just told me (so no written sauce, will add one, once I find one) that Dortmund will only let Lewandowski go to Bayern in exchange for one of Shaqiri or Mandzukic, plus money.
Don't know how credible this is, he has some buddies in the BVB administration, but he hasn't exactly been the master of the scoop in the past, but I thought I'd throw it out there, since I've heard it. And it's a rumour. And boy do we love rumours.
Edit: Here be the sauce: www.spox.com/de/sport/fussball/rundumdenball/1305/tagesticker-2905-borussia-dortmund-juergen-klopp-wollen-mario-mandzukic-xherdan-shaqiri-robert-lewandowski-kyriakos-papadopoulos.html
(In German, at 8:59 o clock in the ticker. There is also a mention of a Bild-sauce, but I don't visit, or link to, Bild homepages.)

The problem with that would be that I doubt either of the players want to leave Bayern for Dortmund.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Well, the thing is, if Lewandowski comes, under Pep, Mandzukic might well lose his starting XI slot, and Shaqiri?
Shaqiri will now be below Ribéry, Götze, Kroos, Müller, Robben in the pecking order, he prefers the center, where Götze, Kroos and Müller all excel. I wouldn't put it past him to appreciate the opportunity of first team football in Dortmund, where either the center, or the left flank, will be vacant.
Ultimately, this will also depend a lot on what Hoeness et al will say to the player.
BTW, from the same source:
Dortmund apparently in advanced talks with Barca talent Gerard Deulofeu. I doubt this will happen though, the kid has a market value of above 10m, Dortmund usually only pay that much for proven players. But maybe Barca will get stupid and get lowballed.

reports saying it'll be a loan if it happens, dont think barca will sell Deulofeu off since they just recently extended his contract.

Yeh, apparently the main point of contention is that Barca want to loan him out, and Dortmund want to buy him, or better yet, have a buy option.

Alessandrini to OM almost done. Great signing if he gets back to shape after injury. He's free.. so there's nothing to lose.

OM also after Payer with demanding 10 mil (very reasonable imo).
You know... and attack of Payet-Valbuena-Alessandrini-Gignac is not that bad. Andre Ayew was a CM 3 years ago and can move there easily. The club could be fun to watch again finally.

Nice to see OM moving in the market again.
Would definitely look at a defender or 2 tho

Also Sports i think Luiz is awful at DM personally have no why Rafa played him there.
Scored some goals but positionally was awful.
Personal theory is he played him there because Terry moaning about game time.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Nkoulou and Fanni are both excellent defenders. In fact, OM only allowed 4 goals in all of its games after the month of February... best defensive team in L1 in the last 3 months easily.
Where they struggled was in creativity. Seems like they're addressing that finally.
I think Luiz is just an average player period. He's far too error prone to be a CB and he's not tactically good enough to play the midfield. He lacks basic tactical awareness.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Nothing wrong with Luiz positioning. He just suffers from occasional mental lapses of concentration mostly due to overconfidence and he's really really really really shit in the air. Aside from that though he's perfect since the individual errors are rare these days (hasn't committed one this season) and the shitty heading can be minimized if he's paired with monsters like Cahill/Terry/Ivanovic who usually win every header and are unmatched aerially.
Instead of focusing on errors from years ago, try and understand some players actually learn and improve on their previous mistakes. Not every players suffers from stagnation like Fatzema and Di Maria.
By the way, he's utter shit at DM and was only used there because Rafa doesn't rate Mikel and Romeu was injured. He looks for the Hollywood pass too often and his first instinct is to dribble rather than keep play moving there. Just because he scored a worldie or two playing in midfield doesn't mean he excels there thats simply just pure talent which he has in abundance. His best position is still at CB. I mean he got outclassed by Benfica's midfield for crying out loud.

Although Suarez scored a lot this season, apparently he's still a bit wasteful. We need someone more clinical.

Liverpool have joined Manchester City and Real Madrid in the race to sign Sevilla winger Jesus Navas.
Radio Marca Sevilla has revealed that the Anfield club have contacted the Spanish international’s representatives in order to clarify his situation at the Sanchez Pizjuan, although a formal offer is yet to be made.

Luis Suarez wrote:
"It's incredible for me," Suarez told LFC TV after collecting the annual prize [2012-13 LFC Player of the Season].
"This is very important for my life and I know I have the supporters helping me - it's so important for me.
"My work is helping the team and I try my best on the pitch. I hoped the team would be in a better position but we tried our best. We are all ready for next season.
"When the manager arrived here it was a little difficult because maybe he didn't know the players or the club. The first season for the manager was good for the confidence of the players. Next season we can be better.
"Of course there's more to come from not only me but all of the players in the dressing room. That's important."
Now give it a day or two and we'll be seeing stories about how Suarez "wants out" because of the sentence in bold, entirely ignoring the other quotes where he repeatedly talks about doing better for supporters next season.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
to be frank, the amount of players that said " i am looking forward to next season" and then were gone the week or so after is countless. gotze is an example iirc, i dont know why Suarez wouldnt, regardless of the amount of press control he does. oh well, if he moves, you are wrong, if he doesnt you are right

Actually that's not the premise used in the article arqi. But it's a rumor and Higuain said similar things at Madrid 6 weeks ago when interviewed. What do you expect a player to say when interviewed? lol
