Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal-Vietnam friendly under threat with ticket-price row set to stop Gunners crossing into new Premier League frontier.
Arsenal’s chances of becoming the first Premier League team to play in Vietnam have been thrown into doubt after a row concerning fees for the stadium.
Arsene Wenger’s team were due to play a friendly against Vietnam at the My Dinh National Stadium on the 17 July, but prices of the stadium have been raised to more than SEVEN times the normal price.
The Vietnam soccer federation have appealed to the government and local media to pressure the owners – who insist all money would be used to renovate the stadium – to lower their £45,000 (1.5billion) dong fee.
‘The price the My Dinh stadium asked for is too unreasonable,’ Le Hung Dung, vice chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation, told Reuters.
Arsenal are one of the most supported clubs in the country, which has been crying out for a top flight club to visit-such is the football following.

He joined a club in Spain, then went down a division or moved to Brazil or something like that. Didn't make the cut.

Merida thought he was better than he was, should have been more patient.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I remember reading in FourFourTwo magazine about 4 years ago that Merida was the next Fabregas.
Re: Arsenal Lobby
Merida was a really talented player who unfortunately broke through too late. I recall in the 09/10 season he played in the Carling Cup and a couple of league and European games and was excellent in all of them (along with Ramsey; it was a pleasure to watch them play together), so much so that there was a lot of surprise that we let him go for nothing.
It's a big shame it's not worked out for him after leaving, but it's just another example of how talent alone doesn't guarantee you a successful career.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Exactly 18 years ago today, Arsenal signed Dennis Bergkamp from Inter Milan for £7.5m. The rest is history.
To watch Dennis Bergkamp & Thierry Henry in tandem ripping up defences & helping us win titles..I definitely took it for granted. Privilege.
