Effenberg vs Ballack vs Schweini

I admit I did not get to see that much of effenberg(only cl) but ballack is a monster offensive mf. However schweini brings so much to the defensive side of the game as well..dono how to call this

LOL please don't ever compare Schweinsteiger with der Tiger and Ballack. Piggy is a very good midfielder in his prime but doesn't hold a candle to these two.

Ballack would be the obvious choice based on his capabilities and individual career yet I would rather have Effenberg in my team as he is my favorite German midfielder of all time. Germany haven't had a leader like him since.

Maybe I am nostalgic, but Effenberg takes it for me, both in terms of play and performance with the club. Complete midfielder and the soul of that beautiful Bayern team between 1999 - 2001.

The guy who carried Germany to a World Cup final.

Ballack for me, the most complete midfielder i have ever seen on a consistent basis.

Before people go nuts this rules out the likes of Matthaus as he was at the end of his career when i started watching.

But Effenberg What a player.That Bayern team had some very special players.

Effenberg was a great leader, and had tremendous energy, while Schweinsteiger just has that sublime touch and is everywhere - but none of those two are as complete, or as present, as Ballack was.

If Ballack had been 2 or 3 years younger, Germany would be so scary right now... It's really a pity, if he hadn't gottne Boateng'ed we would've seen a Ballack/Piggy pivot in South Africa. I wish I could've seen that in a tournament once.

Ballack by far... He could play anywhere, had balls, could score, is a physical presence, and would steal your sister with his handsome looks.

funnily enough i saw highlights of both ballack and effenberg today . effenberg was technically a monster, he could do anything, and played really intelligent football, he was like xavi, but with the ability to take free kicks like juninho- his free kick against kiev in the 98-99 season in the champions league was amazing .
I started watching ballack when he moved to chelsea . He was the complete midfielder . Absolutely awesome but i do re,ember him disappearing from some games .
from the highlights i watched of effenberg from the 92 world cup and the champions league with bayern, it seems like he was more of an AM while ballack was the complete Cm .
I really like scweini and you cant underestimate his importance in bayerns dominance of europe in the last few years, 3 UCL finals in the lasat 4 years is ridiculous .
But you have to choose Ballack .

Never seen Effenberg play so it has to be Ballack vs. Bastian.

ballack was effenberg's replacement. with effenberg they were a team that went far into the ucl. the year ballack and ze roberto joined, they finished last in the group. i remember the bild magazine with a photoshopped picture of bayern players in skirts after they lost to lens, and finished last in the first round. ballack's time at bayern they were the bosses in germany but weren't all that in europe. effenberg gave us (real madrid) some really tough times. and bayern found their footing in europe years later after he left when robben arrived

ballack over schweini though. although i think ballack is the most versatile of the three with respect to the central midfield role. i'd go effenberg ballack then schweini. effenberg's bayern was the team i hated playing against most in europe in the early 00s

I don't think we are just comparing their times at Bayern though. If that was the case then Schweini has had the longevity over the other two and has won more with them.

But career wise Ballack was a beast at Leverkusen before Bayern and at Chelsea (first few years). 2002 he had probably his best season of his career. Just unbelievable run to the CL final. Pity Bayern stripped that Leverkusen side dry after that season like they've done with Dortmund.

I rate Ballack very highly as a complete midfielder. So I go with him.
