‘If only Juve didn’t get Bayern…’

Italy legend Paolo Rossi believes that Juventus could have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League this term had they avoided Bayern Munich.

Rossi is convinced of that idea after seeing the German giants complete a 7-0 semi-final aggregate win over Barcelona on Wednesday.

“Bayern have confirmed that they have a crazy solidity,” the ex-striker stated after they booked a place in the Final against Borussia Dortmund.

“Juventus were unlucky to fish Bayern in the competition. I don’t know how they could have got on against other opponents, but they could have got to the semi-finals.

“Barcelona were unrecognisable, without rhythm,” he added. “I saw a switched off side.”

The Old Lady lost both legs of their last eight ties against Bayern 2-0.
