Arsene loved RVP as a son.

And the "son" f*cks off as soon as his bust knee is in good enough shape. And Wenger wants us to respect him?

@wengerknowsbest
Do we congratulate Manchester United on winning the title? No. We did that in August.

Arsenal great can't be denied, but not a legend. Bergkamp, Henry, Wright, Ted Drake, Alan Smith, tons of strikers WAY better than he was. (And more loyal).

Re: Wenger And His "Respect RVP" Plea
I would like to say that I respect everything he did for us and can let bygones be bygones, but I really can't. It disgusts me when people even bring his name up tbh.
I have said before that I don't wish injuries on him or anything, just for him to be proven wrong when the day comes that we reclaim our glory, but honestly I would settle for him just going away and never having to hear anything about him again. I would be totally cool with him retiring at a young age and disappearing to a tropical island somewhere.
If I was at the Emirates, I would just stand there in silence. No cheering, no booing, just holding my butthurt inside until he leaves and we can forget he exists until the next time we face him.

Well said, There should be no honour shown to that man at all. A club who supported him for 8 years through injury after injury to give us 1 great season!! He’s even been quite average for them this year
He could have been an Arsenal legend, instead he’ll just be remembered as another manure player

Arsenal set to provide guard of honour for Man United... and Van Persie
I hope Donkey face and Satan are at the stadium holding Wengers hand with bag of money.

Can't see why we shouldn't be graceful about it, much as I hate the idea.
If anything, it should motivate the bunch we have to murder them in the game and bag 3 points. 3-0 to Arsenal. You heard it first here.

Screw honor, if fans are not allowed to be emotional and rightfully pissed off, what is the point? Lets not have a laugh with legend status, he's fine player and that's about it. Good for him to win trophy and Arsenal contributed 80% of it. Ivan, Stan and Arsene just look stupid now, "football reason" lol

Fans have every right to be emotional and pissed off but Arsenal has to give them their guard of honor in respect of the game. The fans can do whatever they want during that but the club has to do that

Re: Wenger And His "Respect RVP" Plea
It'd be childish of the club not to do a guard of honour because of van Persie because we're not honouring one player. We're honouring a club that's won the title. If Arsenal decide not to do it, then it's encouraging bitterness and resentment towards van Persie, which doesn't reflect well on a club that's supposed to bigger than just one player.
So just suck it up. It'll done in a couple of minutes and forgotten about.

Re: Wenger And His "Respect RVP" Plea
I agree that we should do it to show we are a club with class, but it doesn't change the fact that I will have no issue at all if the entire ceremony is drowned in fans booing. In terms of 'respecting' RvP, he has my respect as a footballer, but not as a man. Not anymore.

Completely agree, do it and then give them hell after it. If a Guard of Honour can't motivate the players then I don't know what will.

Re: Wenger And His "Respect RVP" Plea
I wouldn't stand up with a guard of honor for Van Persie.
When he is just about to walk past me, I will just sit down and tie my shoelace.
Then, once he has walked past by, I will continue to clap for the rest of them.
Even Evra, I would clap even for fcking Evra.

Re: Wenger And His "Respect RVP" Plea
people are making a big fuss of this guard of honor thing..
we are a club with class and we should maintain it.. Wenger being the gentleman as always will ask the fans to respect every player.. but it doesnt mean fans should follow as if they are always going by his words.. i would be booing for him the entire match..
only way to win some pride is to defeat United and have a laugh at RIP...

Re: Wenger And His "Respect RVP" Plea
Arsenal as a club is classy and respectable enough to do the Guard of Honour. It's not permitted of them to do so, but it's a good sporting gesture. The fact that RVP is at United shouldn't change that.

Someone said this on a facebook post:
"Kroenke, Peter Hill Wood, Gazidiz and the management should line up for the guard of honour when Manchester United come to our stadium."

Stop directing all your butthurt at that c*bt. He isn't worth it. You all are loyal fans. He wasn't one of us, just a wolf in a sheep's clothing. Get over it.
Be as it may, he is a league winner and our class implies we be graceful in acknowledging that.
Save all the vitriol for the board and the management. Booing him, or their vastly more consistent team, is quite a few notches beneath us.
