Here's what we need

Starting RB
Starting LB
Starting DM (to replace gargano)
Box to box CM (to do the old combiasso role...remember those days ? me neither)
Backup CM/DM
Dynamic Winger
CF to replace Cassano
Striker to replace Milito

now let's start suggesting them (realistic) names

I'd be happy just to get Paulinho and Icardi, but even that is probably asking for a lot Laughing

I don't know much about Inter currently, but maybe someone like Santon from Newcastle for fullback?

For DM, maybe someone like Gonalons, Matic or Capoue.

For CF maybe Lewandowski, since apparently he's leaving Borussia Dortmund.

problem is this year we have no one to sell for money. The most we can do is release some dead wood and hope we save on salaries.

35?!? No way

Would be ludicrous to pay more than 14m for Icardi or 16m for Paulinho

Stramma" After 12 months I am still convinced that I can stay at Inter. I don’t like to complain and I’ll never wail, but this year absolutely everything happened to us. We laid important foundations for the future, including players we have secured who perhaps you don’t know about."

Icardi ? hmm

Handa must stay and I don't care what you say Huracan fan from South Africa.

We are not getting a keeper of Handa's quality again soon...He is 28,that is years of world class goalkeeping. Is it worth 30 mill?

Who could replace him in our price range...And if someone says Marchetti you're getting punched in the face.I would take Julio back though :coffee: And hope Bardi develops soon...

Even so, he is a player that I would persist with. His situation reminds me greatly of Destro's spell at Genoa, where form and play time were hard to come by, leading to the very rapid conclusion amongst many that his record at youth level would not be reproduced at a professional level. All he really needed though was to find a club that suited him and when he exploded, he did so rapidly.

He may well not work out, however I believve that a season spent in the company of Milito, Palacio and Cassano would benefit him greatly. A young player who will work hard for his minutes, knows the club and is a flexible option provides a sensible option for the future without the need for a significant outlay of cash that might be better invested elsewhere. Once everyone is fit, Inter's last concern is their attack in my eyes. Given the age of the three star attackers, the introduction of a more polished but young alternative such as Icardi should be given due consideration, however holding off for twelve months might land you a better prospect and in the mean time you can address the midfield and fullback areas.
