Portugal 3rd in qualification
So, Portugal is now 3rd place in their pool with 8 points (together with Israel), and Russia is leading with 12 points out of 4 matches. Will Portugal qualify for the world cup? Russia will go trough anyway - if Israel keeps up his game (not very hard against the other teams), they might keep Portugal out of the WC. No Christiano Ronaldo at the WC would be a absolute upset

They face Azerbaijan next and Northern Ireland after that, both winnable games.
How many games are there in qualifying?

They draw 1-1 against Northern Ireland before. You play each team twice, so 10 games in total - 5 played so far. Consider they will trouble again against NI, Israel and Russia, they can lose 9 points in 3 games. I hope they will make it but its a hard journey.

Hardly surprising they do this every time i'm convinced they like to torture themselves.
Benfica fan i was speaking too said this on Portugal....
Benfica fan i was speaking too said this on Portugal....
That's a cultural thing.
People in this country only open their eyes when everything is really REALLY f***ed up.
Happened several times in history.
Myself I am like that:
When I lost my virginity, I knew that I was going to be nervous and eventually lose my erection. I tried not to think about it.
Instead of addressing the problem, I went for it. I didn't know even how to put a condom in my dick.
So when the night came, I knew I was not prepared. I was in trouble. I was so nervous that I vomited.
Her grandma came to me and gave me a recomforting tea.
So she, disappointed, went to bed. I was alone in the bathroom spanking my dick trying him to get hard, nothing.
Eventually she had sheep in the backyard. The sheep started to have sex then. I got so horny watching that, that I ran to her room and f***ed her in the ass.
Moral of the story:
Portuguese people tend not to care about things till things get ugly.

Re: Portugal 3rd in qualification
they almost didn't qualify for 2010 world cup, if you guys remember
what do you expect, that team is so shite!!
Ronaldo really doesn't deserve to be in this portuguese team, FFS their best striker is postiga... a guy who plays in Zaragoza

Re: Portugal 3rd in qualification
In terms of writing history Ronaldo is in a shit position. Argentina have a good chance of winning the WC next year, this will put Ronaldo in the eternal shadow of Messi. Wish Ronaldo had a better team to play with.

Re: Portugal 3rd in qualification
Meh, a WC can do without this bunch of choke artists, they only got like 3 good players anyway. TBH I have no problem with Russia going through ahead.
Though Portugal almost always find a way to still qualify, so who cares. They'll get through somehow.

Re: Portugal 3rd in qualification
Cristano doesnt deserve what?
He is poor for Portugal and has been for time.
You can say Cristiano deserves more when he starts playing better.
Nani was better than him for like 2 seasons...and now, even Varela shows more effort and impact
Moutinho and their defence is the only thing to like about them, no surpise they didnt beat Isreal with Moutinho playing injured and the defence falling apart out of nowhere.
Bento probably needs to go...he stll hasnt figured out attacking down the wings constantly is pretty lame and predictable.

Collblanc I am suffering.
Why did you post this thread?
Please delete it. I am afraid of the GL jinx.
Edit: on a second note Moal's anecdote is such gold it would be a crime to delete it

CR is suspended for tomorrow's game.
that Coentrao equalizer in last minute vs Israel on friday could prove to be very decisive

Cant afford to say that after his recent showing in the EUROS.Popped up in important occasions although ultimately fell short to the eventual champions.
Too many extremists here in GL.Either its blind hate or blatant fanboyism. There's no middle ground at all.

Two games he stepped up every other game friendly or competition he flopped hard and copped alot of criticsm. Just because someone shows up in two games compared to the other 100 or so games doesn't make them great.
My posts are full of sarcasm...
