Nothing really that comical about it. The trequrtista is a hybrid of a midfielder and a forward. Marchisio has shown the ability to play the role, or at the very least has shown that he has the capabilities to play as a midfielder who's principal role on the pitch is to assist in the attacking phase.

And if this video is anything to go by, it isn't even about the name of the position. Can you link up with your teammates in the attacking phase is the name of the game with this Juve team. Vidal, Marchisio, Vucinic, Matri, Giovinco, and co. have all shown an ability to do this.
