Probably his best goal in terms of the shooting mechanism/technique. Whether that's his best goal overall, I will leave that to the hipsters. I'm not sure the shot is so good that it's better than some of his solo goals

He has a very short, quick, step. Like cruyff said where other players take 1 stride messi makes 2, it's quite a big advantage and how he was able to shoot that quickly. Though it's certainly not unique to him as gil suggested.

Also, Khaled, his goal against Lyon is worth mentioning. Think it was at home, and it was when Lyon had those bright lime green uniforms, I think 08-09. He chests it near sideline, brings the ball down, goes past one or two, does a nice one-two with Eto'o and sidefoots it into the corner with his right foot. Actually why don't I just find it.

This doesn't show all of it but...meh. Short and sweet and it's what i could find.

I stood up as soon as he scored that. Started laughing and gave him a 2 minutes standing ovation. All out of instinct. Specially giving the circumstances that Milan were 2-0 up. Messi scored that goal like it was a 2 yarder pass. That technique and ability to shoot like that is phenomenal.

Yes, agree Maybe I should add it to Top 10 instead of the goal vs Valencia.

Even if technically brilliant, I find it too lacking in magic to be his best one.

Is Messi currently reinventing himself, again? 08-09 he became the worlds best player as a winger, 09-11 he moved more to the center, as a center forward and remained as the worlds best player, 11-13 he changed yet again and still remained worlds best player as a false 9. Now the teams insist of clogging the center every time, and trying to deny space just from him so he's countering that by moving again, to further from the clog, and playing more like a attacking midfielder. Will be interesting to see if he can again remain as the best player.
