Suspect I am certain you said you didn't rate him.

Glad to see you've come around. cheers I'd definitely keep Poli around, I'd love for him to learn from Van Bommel, Gattuso, Ambrosini and Seedorf. He's capable enough of winning the game time he needs, he can service either side of midfield and will continue our transition towards a more youthful centre.

Also I'd hardly weep over Flamini's departure, however there's no point in losing him if we're not bringing in someone obviously better and Poli is not a direct replacement in my eyes.

No, I said if it came down to Montolivo, Aquilani, or Poli. I'd take Montolivo because he is more experienced and I believe him to be the better player of the 2 ATM.

milanista99 wrote:And that's why they say never trust Galliani.

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has reiterated the club is not interested in Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik, and have not enquired about Bayer Leverkusen's Arturo Vidal, but admitted they might make a move for Genoa's Juraj Kucka.

The Serie A winners have been active in the transfer market and the 66-year-old has clarified the club's intentions for the rest of the summer.

"Hamsik is a player of Napoli and we have never been interested. Vidal we do not know, but it is possible that Kucka could [wear] the Milan shirt," Galliani told journalists.

Slovakian midfielder Kucka received the man of the match award against Milan back in February, and club president Enrico Preziosi has stated that they are in negotiations with an unnamed Italian club over his sale.

Galliani went on to reveal that recent signing Stephan El Shaarawy will not be loaned back to Genoa, and will stay at San Siro in 2011-12.

"El Shaarawy we took because we believe in him and [he] will remain with us throughout the year. Soon we will evaluate what his current value is, but I'm sure he can become a champion," he stated.

The 18-year-old joins Taye Taiwo and Philippe Mexes as new recruits to the already star studded Milan squad

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has stated that Serie A champions AC Milan have made a €10 million offer for highly-rated midfielder Arturo Vidal, but the Bundesliga side are holding out for a fee in the region of €15m.

Milan are eager to add a new midfielder to their squad because of the departure of Andrea Pirlo and have been linked with players such as Standard Liege's Axel Witsel and Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo in the past couple of months, but have now apparently set their sights on Vidal.

"We are keen to hold on to Arturo, but we could cash in on him if a big money offer from abroad comes in. AC Milan's €10m offer is not high enough for us, though," Voller said to Bild.

Voller's comments come as a surprise, after Milan CEO Adriano Galliani's earlier remarks that the club are not interested in signing the 24-year-old, but the Italian giants are apparently keen to keep their transfer plans under wraps in order to avoid alerting any rivals to their transfer targets.

Vidal has a contract until the summer of 2012 with Leverkusen and he is reluctant to sign a contract extension with the BayArena side.

The Chile international has also attracted the interest of clubs such as Napoli and Bayern Munich, and the player himself recently stated his desire to move to the Allianz Arena.

I don't understand what you were trying to prove here. No to Hamsik, He didn't know about Vidal so that left the door open. Seems like Galliani was speaking truth to me.

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI has given his view over the latest news.

There have been a lot of talk regarding the Milan and Mr. X, so today coach Massimiliano Allegri had a press conference at the Livorno Yacht Club to talk about what’s going on with Milan during this summer.

Reports again this morning suggested that Arsenal Captain Cesc Fabregas is the real target of Milan. Allegri, however, did not confirm or deny these claims, saying Milan will need an Andrea Pirlo-like player.

Milan set up Malmo friendly
Allegri: “Milan have the right mix”
Transfer Market

“We’ve not just discovered Fabregas this morning,” Allegri said today. “Having lost Pirlo, Milan need a player of important technical qualities. There are two months of the market left and Galliani knows perfectly what this side is missing. If a player arrives then he will have an important value and will certainly be Milan level.

“Paulo Henrique Ganso? He’s a great player, but he has to demonstrate that he can make it in Europe, and so does Neymar and Danilo [all from Santos]. Is Marek Hamsik a dream? He has never been a dream of ours. A lot of names have been mentioned by the press; Axel Witsel, Francesc Fabregas, Alberto Aquilani”

Milan have already made some moves in the transfer market. “Milan’s market has been excellent up until now,” he added. “We’ve strengthened on the left with Taye Taiwo, we’ve signed Philippe Mexes who is a world class player and El Shaarawy who is a kid with great quality. He’ll stay at Milan as he has a lot to prove.
Current Players and Squad

A lot has been spoken of Antonio Cassano’s future. While the newspapers and market experts believe the days of FantAntonio are numbered at Milan, the player and the club insists that he will stay this summer.

“Antonio Cassano will remain too. He joined us after two months of inactivity at Sampdoria, he scored four goals and laid on eight assists. He’ll be an extra value to us next season,” the former Cagliari boss said.

“Thiago Silva? Barcelona are not the only side who want him. He’s one of the best defenders around, two or three levels above the rest, apart from Sandro Nesta, but he extended his contract just a month ago.

“Our squad will be made up of 25 players this time around and not 32 like in the past term. I can only choose 11 to play at once. Our strength this term was that every player was ready when called upon.”
Next Season targets

Milan, like every year, will compete for three titles next season.

“We have no priority even if the first target is the Italian Super Cup,” Allegri continued. “When we start the season we have to be competitive in all three competitions. The League and the UCL are two different tournaments. You need consistency in Serie A, while you have to be ready at the right time in the CL.

“Last season we were knocked out of the latter a little bit too soon. In Europe Barcelona are superior to everyone, but we will be competitive with everybody else.”

Milan start the new season on July 12.

Also Dos I wouldn't ever say "I don't rate him" I can't stand that phrase in the old forum or this one, and don't understand how you can't rate a player unless you've never seen them.

Toloi is interesting... but he's non-EU... unless there is something I dont' know. The price mentioned is 8 million Euros. He could partner well with Silva...

Remember we don't have many non-EU spots.. so I don't see how we are going to sign Ganso, Toloi and Danilo... to make Milan the second Brazilian national team Wink

wow, tolois name was mentioned for a long while... i already thought we lost interest in him.
about toloi passport issues: if im not mistaken, he was eligible to attain an itallian passport due to his heritage (could be the reason why we never heard of him for so long)... kinda the same issues we had to deal with rodrigo ely, who got an italian passport by now - so either toloi has an italian passport or this news is utter garbage... one things for sure, he wont be our next non-eu signing by any means... Rolling Eyes

what im concerned about though, is that we allegedly will pay 8m for him, which is a large sum for a player of his rank... and i honestly dont see how hell play a role for us as we are already overcrowded in central defense... would probably go on loan or something....

Allegri: "Galliani, Braida and Berlusconi have given me the permission to train and work with a great group. We have reinforced our left flank with Taiwo and we've also signed Mexes, who is a world class player.

El Shaarawy is a youngster with a lot of qualities and he will stay at Milan. Cassano will also stay. He came after 3 months of inactivity and made 4 goals and 8 assists. Next year he will be an added value.

This year our squad will consist of 25 players instead of 32. And there will be added a few Primavera-players.

Silva to Barça? No, he just renewed his contract. And I don't think that Barça is the only club that wants Silva. Ganso? He's a great player, but he has to demonstrate that he can make it in Europe, and so does Neymar and Danilo. Is Hamsik a dream? He has never been a dream of ours. A lot of names have been mentioned by the press; Witsel, Fabregas, Aquilani. We already have 7 strikers, so we don't need another one".

We have to conquer the Italian Super Cup in Beijing. We have to bring it home, because it's our first objective this season. We don't have any priorities. We have to be competitive in every competition".

Just like Fabregas, there is zero possibility of seeing him at Milan. Ganso's declarations were very nice. We also want him, but he's a non-EU player, so the rules have to be changed first. I knew Biabiany wouldn't stay at Samp. Far too good to be in Serie B. I rate him highly.

After failing to sign Davide Astori from Cagliari Calcio, Milan are searching for defensive back-ups, and according to Futnet.com.br Milan are close to signing Goiás Esporte Clube center back Rafael Toloi.

It appears that Milan are set to offer €8 million for the 20-year-old.

The Brazilian under 20 star has played over than 100 games for his side and attracted the interest of some clubs, from Italy too: the report indicates that S.S. Lazio’s €6 million has been rejected by “Esmeraldino”.

It is believed that negotiations are already in advanced situation. No side has commented on this rumour.

Since we've lost Astori...
I'm all for Rafael Toloi!

And I suppose the Italian passport thing is up in the air at the moment, eh?
But we should definitely sign him
If he costs 8m...
We could use the 4m from Astori, one of the 3.2m installments from Borriello...
That's 7.2m straight up for an 8m player
I think we could even sign him for 7.2m

Since Goal.com is reporting Kaka is bound to be sold this summer, I guess we can count on him as a temp solution until Ganso comes, because Real will have a lot of problems.

PSG are planning to be a good team in the future, they won't BUY the injury-prone, 29-year-old Kaka for the price Perez is asking.

Chelsea no longer has Carlo Ancelotti on the bench and therefore that destination is ruled out.

Sao Paulo, his first club, are eager to have him but not with this price, not with such a pay check

Then there is a certain Adriano Galliani who specializes in professional player robbery, he can, I repeat he CAN, ask for the Milan legend on loan and also force Real Madrid to pay half of his salary, which leaves us with an absolute gem of a play-maker for free on 6m a year.

I'm all for signing Kaka if it doesn't mean the end of Milan-Ganso story.
