Re: Tottenham v Arsenal Preview
As much as it hurts to say, i won't mind tottenham above us as long as we finish in the top 4. If that makes them finish 3rd and us 4th then let it be. Not a good thing to say but we are not that good to be making demands.

Great work Sam
have a feeling there will be a late winner in this-hopefully for us ofc
with all these crap long range Goals we have conceded also some weird clearances we tend to make this season i hope we do no nonesense defending when required just like Bales first Goal that WHU defender gifts the ball to him and of course not conceding free kicks in Red Zone
twice we claw back to turn the table vs spuds lets hope we wont need to do that
hopefully we will score first and you know what happens when AVB's highline faces Arsenal

at the start of the season no one was able to get the better of him.. Jenkos game is all about confidence..Raptorgunner wrote:Lex wrote:Blah all Bale has is speed on the wing and an aging Sagna kept him in check in the past. Jenkinson'll have no problem keeping up with monkey boy
Jenkinson will get raped, lets be real here. few weeks back Sessegnon went through him no problem.

Yes.
But not because of the "look at the table" kinda spiel. I dislike it as much as you. But I believe Tottenham are better than this Chelsea team, yes I do.

All hype is on Bale for this match.
He's good and he deserves it, no doubt. So we need to keep him quite and avoid giving Spurs any space in dangerous positions.
We need a good solid start. If we concede 1st I can't see us winning. This match will prolly be a draw. I'd take it though. Wouldn't be too bad a result for us.

Re: Tottenham v Arsenal Preview
Let's not forget that Spurs have one attack at the moment. Give to the the chimp and hope he smacks one in from 30 yards.
For me, we need to cut out the supply to him and we must be careful not to give away free kicks anywhere central from 35 yards in.
Apart from that we shouldn't worry too much.
Spurs have one attack and we have a few. Our form isn't too bad in the league and our attacks have been varied. Santi and Poldi can also hit them from distance, Theo can use his pace to get in behind. He can even finish nowadays! We can play the football we've become best known for (one two's in and around the box) and can even lump in a ball to the big man, Giroud.
I would tell our guys to vary the attacks and keep them guessing.
I expect us to win tomorrow. Wenger has a great record against the Spuds and Villas Boas has a dreadful record vs Wenger.
1-3 away win.

I'm not nervous at all. I have confidence we can get a draw, which will be a good result.

Tottenham's defence is laughable. A front three of Podolski, Giroud and Walcott will have a field day against old man Gallas and co.

Arsenal current form in the league is not that bad. And from the matchs in Europa League we played against them, I think that you can take them. We really deserved to progress and plainly dominated them at Gerland.
If Arsenal has a proper organization, they will have trouble to create chances. The biggest danger is that Bale and Demebele can score goals out of nowhere or on setpieces.

Re: Tottenham v Arsenal Preview
About the van Persie talk trading his Arsenal legacy for money and glory. One need look no further than Tom Brady of the New England Patriots as the perfect role model soon-to-be out of contract stars should aspire to be. The guy goes into contract talks and is well known to be the best quarterback in the NFL and arguably of all time and his main concern during negotiations isn't his paycheck but actually how much he can give back to the team.
That's right. He takes paycuts to allow the front office to build a winning team around him. That's the way it should be anyway with truly noble players who want a great image when they're remembered.
Anyway, this game. Yes.

Who, exactly, would Dembele displace at Chelsea? Mata? No. Ramirez? No. Oscar? No. Hazard? No. Lampard? Oh hell no

Our Europa League form has been far worse than our league form this season though, I wouldn't judge on those games.
But judging on form going into a NLD is next to useless.
Dembele has only scored twice this season. He did so against you from nowhere but saying he's one that's capable of putting it in from nowhere is being very kind. He's a skilled player and he's got a good shot- but most of the time he doesn't have that opportunity and most of the time he doesn't even shoot.

Re: Tottenham v Arsenal Preview
For me it comes down to if Tottenham can finish the chances created.
That West Ham game should have been put to bed and Caulker could have had a hat trick in addition to Ade missing an absolute sitter. Not to mention all the amazing saves Jaaskelainen made.
If that happens again I see Arsenal pulling something off but I'm very confident going into this fixture and I can see Tottenham putting on a show tomorrow if we finish our chances and Bale is firing on all cylinders.
Not to mention Ade will actually put away any chance he gets since he's against a former club

Re: Tottenham v Arsenal Preview
First and foremost I'm rooting for a draw as it will benefit us most. Sorry my gunner bros I can however tell you that we will smash Spurs next week (maybe not smash but we'll beat them ) so you can make up ground on there. But if someone did win tomorrow I do hope it's you guys.
I think this Spurs team is overrated to an extent(sorry CB). Neutralizer Bale (the SAF way) and you are half way to victory. The way you do that is always close down his left side and let him run to the right, and never commit to a challenge. Just don't give him any space to run, pressure him and lead him to his right foot and he becomes pretty useless. Barring the freekicks of course. Once Bale is taken out of the game, it's like playing a very winnable but tough group stage match in CL.
