Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
FFS Allegri. This was the game to test out Zapata, play KPB instead of Muntari in midfield and Bojan instead ofr KPB. Line-up uglier than Muntari.

Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
There is a measure to see the uselessness of KPB. Its called Kevin Prince Boateng.
Bojan would have been the far better option.

Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
Thanks a 1000000 for this thread, otherwise I would have missed the game, while having nothing to do.
Anyway I missed the first 40 mins, how was it?
Its not that I am complaining but why isn't SES playing? I want him to rest enough for Barca game, I just hope he aint injured....

Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
Being played off our own pitch by Parma, what a disaster. I think they're strategy is to keep fouling Balotelli so he gets angry and gets a red. Useless f***s, i'm so pissed watching their lowly tactics.
Muntari off flamini on at half time. Drop Monty to CM. Bring on Bojan or Pazzo at 60 mins for Niang or Boateng.
Yepes is total crap also. Flamini and Zaccardo should be brought on asap. we are playing with 9 men right now.
It's a sad day as a milan fan when i'm begging for flamini and zaccardo to b subbed in. gone are the days when we had rui costa on the bench

Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
Our performance was pretty average. Muntari was awful. Boateng was OK. He made the cross that lead to the own goal, so i'll cut him some slack. Balotelli was really awesome. The Parma defenders constantly made bad challenges and tackles trying to get to his head, but he kept his cool and scored and beauty from the free-kick. He also created some really good chances.ACMRox wrote:Missed the game, how did we do?

Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
Mario put in a true "neuf et demi" (9.5) performance, à la Zlatan ... loved it!
also enjoyed the Niang reaction ... reminded me of this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_igRd4DMBmE
but the fact that Niang came straight back to Mario to do their "customary" celebration was awesome to see, because it shows his reaction was just his youthful exuberance, and that he's clearly not holding a grudge ...
finally: contrary to some people in this thread, I think there's a lot to like about the setup Max chose ... sure, I wouldn't mind seeing 1 or 2 personnel changes, but Monty as DLP is an excellent tactical decision -- and I thought he thrived in that role tonight ... it would take a bold manager to play a similar setup against Barça; with Ste being able to slot straight in for Mario in the 9.5 role, I personally would like to see it happen (regardless of how admittedly unlikely that might be) ...

Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
As has been said, Montolivo and Balotelli stood out for their calm, imposing performances, both showing great qualities of leadership and they took the responsibility of pushing us forward in a game where we struggled and initially looked like taking nothing from the game.
Parma dominated the opening quarter of an hour, frustrating our efforts to sustain possession in their half and pushing us back, firing off several warning shots which we were fortunate not to concede from, with our central partnership showing signs of frailty throughout.
Despite a flawed performance, involving numerous occasions upon which the wrong decision was made, Boateng's performance was crucial to allowing us to re-establish ourselves, and whilst it wasn't a vintage performance, his dynamism helped to ease some of the focus on Balotelli and Niang and allowed for a more balanced approach in attack.
Niang still shows signs of petulance at times, however he once more put in a fantastic shift defensively, mopping the ball up at the back then storming back up the pitch, he continues to grow as a player and played some excellent diagonal balls. Balotelli meanwhile was targeted by a niggling and underhanded Parma defence, however he maintained his calm and answered in the best possible way, proving an excellent creative threat in picking out Boateng's off the ball runs beyond his slightly withdrawn position and then firing in a sumptuous free kick. He was also unfortunate not to have received better passes from Boateng on two occasions when the through ball was on, however Parma's goalkeeper was an alert mind who did well to come out and sweep when necessary. All in all, encouraging signs from our front three, providing a performance I didn't expect after an abysmal start in which I feared El Shaarawy's absence would cost us.
Deeper in midfield, Montolivo ran the show both offensively and defensively, once more proving our most effective player in recovering the ball, whilst pushing us forward constantly in possession. Muntari had a poor game, however he ensured that he was constantly involved at the very least and his effort could not be faulted. His limits in possession and his calmness in defence were tested well by Parma and the need for an upgrade in midfield is clear. Nocerino had a very quiet match meanwhile, and Abate's absence on the right flank was really felt during our build up, particularly in the first half when we struggled for penetration. The fortunate own goal helped to open up the match for us and we were then able to enjoy some greater success on both flanks, however Abate for all of his faults clearly strikes more fear into an opposition thanks to his sheer pace. Both Constant and De Sciglio failed to impact the game offensively, a couple of lovely runs from Constant aside, though he was in turn the shakier player defensively, with Biabiany only limited by his side's diminishing possession.
At the end of the day, this was an important three points gained in the absence of some key squad members, however it is also very evident that this side will need the introduction of not only El Shaarawy but also Abate, Mexes or Bonera and Ambrosini if we are to hold our own against Barcelona this week.
On a final note, Bojan showed a bit of spirit, but once more showed that he is limited in a wide position. It will be interesting to see if given his substitution, Max purports to use him against his home club, and if so, in what sort of role.
Temporarily, we move into third place, a fantastic achievement for the squad, let's hope that results conspire to keep us there beyond tonight.

He'll turn 22 later in the year, he's currently a member of the Italian U21 set-up, typically featuring as a right winger.

Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
It was a fairly average game. We got dominated in the first half hour and Milan were lucky Parma didn't put one in the back of the net early.
Niang is wasteful, his creativity is seriously lacking. I'd rather start Bojan and see how he plays.
Boateng had an average game, wasteful at times too.
Muntari was annoying too, I don't know how he starts.

Re: AC Milan vs Parma F.C.
I read somewhere that we had a 47 k attendance against Parma, is this true? Im sure Balo will help a little, but when I looked at the SS before the game, it didnt look like 47 k people, but perhaps its just cause of the 80 k maximum.
Still, from where Im sitting at home, the noice level at SS is always magic.
