Getting Data off and Old Hard Drive

Hey guys.

Last month my old laptop died suddenly. No HD failures though. It was a Macbook from 2008.

I now have a new laptop but I want to get the data from my old one onto it. I was told about getting some sort of adaptor/reader which you can plug the HD into after taking it out of the old machine.

Anyone know specifically which one to get?

you need a Sata Cable but the type depends on what hard drive you have

Sweet. This was as much as I'd gathered, but I thought I would need to get the right type.

It is a 160GB Serial ATA 5400 rpm Hard Drive.

Any ideas?

that should work, btw most new laptops have two harddrive trays, you might be able to install that into your laptop.
