Simplistic map designs is what they should aim for. It's what made MW2 maps good.
I'm guessing Ghosts maps are worse than DLC maps Fuel and Carnival from MW2, in terms of size and obstacles?

I was a beast in COD4. Had a K/D ratio of over 3 lol.
Never been able to replicate that in any other COD games for some reason.

Exactly! I don't think everyone would agree with that statement, but I don't think you will like them. They're alright, they're different in the sense that they are larger, multi-layered, more buildings, more obstacles - more bushes, more trees, more corners, more details, rubble, debris, water pools, crates, hills, floors, vehicles etc. Also, some of the maps are dynamic, in the sense that certain parts of a map can change if a particular requirement is met - may be as simple as blowing up the gas station on the map, Octane, or getting a nuke on the map with the hot dog stand. These maps are not very simple, compared to previous CoD maps. I think Carnival would be the closest reference, since that map also had random obstacles lying around everywhere, and things that prevent you from getting a clear view on an otherwise large and open area, like that abandoned rollercoaster that always annoyed me when I was sniping because people where hiding in the bushes around itYohan Modric wrote:So the maps are worse than Fuel and Carnival?
I think they've made an effort to try and prevent campers in the way they designed these maps, but it backfired when they added all of these random obstacles. Most areas and even rooms inside of buildings have multiple entrances and exits, so it's hard for campers to stay in one spot and survive (with a few exceptions, like that second floor room on Warhawk). Also, since the maps are so large, most of the good camping spots aren't crowded at all and staying in those spots won't guarantee that many kills. What I have an issue with, is all of these random obstacles that people hide behind. It may be random, small hills, or some damaged pillar in the middle of nowhere where people take advantage of a head glitch or that new leaning feature. Not to mention all of the damn rubble on Stonehaven and Flooded, or that large, grassy area on Stormfront. These camping spots are mostly annoying on Search and Destroy/Rescue. I'm just glad that the majority of players aren't taking advantage of these camping spots, yet... it's just extremely annoying when I do bump into one that does.

I quite like it, actually. It's less survival-based than Zombie mode, though. You have to run around and place a drill on several.. alien things that produces aliens It's pretty much the same concept. Protect the drill until it has destroyed the large alien egg- thing. Obviously, you need to survive while doing so. You have a health bar that regenerates while you're idle/not being hit, and several different weapons are scattered all around the map (purchasable). There's also an upgradeable perk system that I don't have that much experience with, different ammo types.. and probably more things that I just haven't tested out, yet.M99 wrote:How is Extinction mode? My two main issues with this COD are the ease of dying in combat, where you have no time to react so no matter how good you are, you'll die before you can really react providing the opponent isn't god awful.
And more importantly, the spawning system. The spawning system is truely aweful at times. It's not uncommon to die 3 or 4 times in as many seconds purely because you spawn infront of an enemy facing sideways, or in the middle of an open space, where everybody can see you.
Here's something that happened to me yesterday.
I killed 2 people, then some random explosive killed me. I spawned and before I could blink, a guy knifed me. I thought... ffs *bleep* you infinity ward. Then before I finished thinking that, THE SAME GUY knifed me again, I spawned 8 feet from where I died. Then I spawn a 3rd time and I get shotgunned within 2 seconds.
I nearly raged despite being on about 20-6 after that. It's disgusting. And the spawn system wouldn't be such an issue if the health was like in old cods. So I have a chance of facing my attacker and shooting back instead of dropping dead somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd bullet being fired out of a rapid SMG.

Forgot to add, sometimes the spawning is bad in the opposite way. You plough through 3 enemies on a giant map, and all of a sudden 2 of those 3 people are shooting you again before you've finished reloading.
And this is on maps bigger than MW2 wasteland with 20x more obstacles.

It was very easy and simple on COD4. I am not a clever guy so all these perks and so many attachment shit goes over my head. In COD4 it was like everyone get the same perks. 3 kill radar, 5 kill air strike, 7 kill helicopter. It was fair for everyone.
I am one of the minority in this one but they are making multiplayer more n more complicated with each COD.

About the maps.
I didn't really like MW2 maps that much lol contrary to the fanbase it has. And i loathed MW3 maps.
In contrast, i like the Ghosts maps so far. Just need to get used to them but i think i will play this game on PS4 as well ( i can return it for money instead of PS4 version if i want )

It is quite irritating all those perk combos ffs
Because of the constant wave of noobs with 'satcom' killstreaks every 4 seconds, no matter what class I have I never feel safe without the anti-satcom perk thing. Because I don't like scrubs honing in on my position 24/7

Complicating the perks and maps just makes the game worse. MW2 had a simple perk system and simple maps.
All they had to do was fix the OMA glitch and a few other things.

Am I the only one who liked the first Black Ops lol? Short but great story, fun zombies mode, varying modes and maps in MP. Modern Warfare will forever be the undisputed best of the current gen but Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops have a special place in my heart for the time period I played and the people I played with.

For future CoD games, they should just build from MW2. Similar map styles, similar guns, perks etc. However better graphics since it's next gen and some innovative new features.
