I agree with your analysis, but off course, playing 3 at the back was partly at fault. With 4 at the back, Machete can rush out pressing with much less danger as there is still another CB.

What I don't understand, is that playing with 343 hasn't proved to be better in attack than 433, while we clearly leaked more goals, so why not stop it for once and forever?

I fail to see how Masch making a mistake and showing his inexperience is any of the system's fault.The goal was almost fully his fault.

Well, it's obvious, with 3 at the back there are lots of space. If a player presses there are more. This doesn't happen with 4.

Also, if Mascherano had not pressed Mata, it may well have ended in a goal because having 3 at the back. (Mata turns, runs to Mascherano and passes to Ramirez). So yes, the system was partly at fault.

Well in the 4-3-3 formation and look how he plays, he acts as a winger not a wing forward. He takes the ball from the back and when he thinks there is a opportunity he will race down the ride hand side without the defense know and create havok. If he gives the ball away for example, he is no way going to come back and help the defense with a counter attack.

Thats not true at all.

Firstly, he isnt a player who stands wide, then takes on a fullback. He is clearly better at arriving late. Just because he is offensive, doesnt make him a winger.

And if he gives the ball away, he presses straight away, which is what he is supposed to be doing.

Dont see how it would have ended in a goal if Masch didnt press.
There were other players in midfield who would surely have closed down Mata.
Busquets,Xavi,Iniesta or Fabregas.Masch stays back,we dont concede.
The way I see it,its not the formation's fault one bit.
Lets just agree to disagree.

3-4-3 = Playing Iniesta on the wing, one less defender, passing just for passing sake

4-3-3 = normal defence, Don in the midfield, attack with penetration, none useless passing.

Place for a 3-4-3 = toilet or cementary, it should be buried forever.

Leaves 4-3-3 and Pedro, Sanchez, Messi, Iniesta out of thier usual positions among others until CL and La Liga was over.....

Then uses it in his last game to show people what could have been....
