why didn't he wait until the summer to move to a better league? what is so much more appealing about russia compared to italy,germany,spain and england in terms of football and the lifestyle?. who in their right mind would move to anzhl to get a slight pay rise when im sure willian could be on 5 million+ anywhere else anyway?. footballers in the 21st century lol Mad

Well so much for wanting to move to a big Club, I guess his definition of big is rich.

Obviously he can move to a proper league in a couple of years but I would just stay at shakhtar and play CL knockout football.

Well shakhtar just lost a big player at a very poor time.

No way shaktar was going to turn down a 35 millions offer . no one was going to make a better offer in summer , not even a '' big club ''



Edit : i just read that they didn't want him to goé I honestly doubt that a ' big club '' would have made an offer for him . Maybe Spurs or QPR or Arsenal . the others didn't need him. He will be playing in the CL soon

Of course players move for money. We would, too.
Must have been a substantial pay rise and you can never be sure that such an opportunity would have presented itself again in the summer.

The Spurs a CL spot and why not?

Willian has said that he wanted a move to a big club (that worked out well Laughing ) and he specifically has mentioned Spurs are right up there with the big clubs in England for him.

Although I do wonder if he would have accepted Spurs wage structure tbh if he's moved on to Anzhi lol.

Well, it depends how you define better clubs. All top clubs are those who can afford paying the biggest wages and fees. Zenit has done it here. Where is money, that is big.
