Deschamps and Wenger feuding
Wenger thinks Diaby should not be called to France NT because he's not ready. Deschamps says that, if Diaby is not ready, then he shouldn't be playing for Arsenal either.
In the end, DD may not call him up simply because there are better players at his position now. But what do you guys think?
I'll chime in later.

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
Diaby should retire from playing with France tbh, he barely can take 2 games in a week anymore.
On topic: If France have better options why call him up, just to continue ruining his career? France have Sissoko, Matuidi, Capoue etc... why is Diaby rushed so early

I wish Diaby just goes back to France, and never comes back to Arsenal, he is ruining Arsenal.

Don't forget Cabaye and Gonalons. Honestly, France NT doesn't need him right now.

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
If he were fit all the time, he would be one of their best CMs, if not the best. He should be called up, but only after he can get a run of games without injury.

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
I dont understand Deschamps.
Why does being fit for Arsenal automatically mean fit to play for France too?
Maybe the only reason he is fit for Arsenal is because he is avoiding too many miles on the legs per week right now?
Why would Wenger intentionally not release Diaby to help his own country? Of course he would not unless he actually believes he isnt capable yet of doing both and not getting hurt again. Do you think Diaby himself wouldnt have a problem with someone stopping him playing NT football unjustly?

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
Wenger has had him start 2 games a week and played a ton lately... that's what Deschamps is saying.
DD is right here. The wishes of a club are absolutely irrelevant to the final decision of a NT coach. They are completely separate things. If a player is fit to play at the club, then he is available for NT call up. It's that simple.
The only person that can refuse a call up is the player, not the club. Of course, if Diaby does that, he can kiss his NT future bye bye.
You guys are all about the club. That's not how it is in France. French players dream about NT glory first. It's the same in Germany, Brazil and Italy. I don't think the NT sentiment is as strong in the UK and in Spain because their glory was bound to club play mostly. It may change for Spain now that the NT is so successful.

Except if you're like Anelka lol... of course, Anelka hates everything. So you can't really use him as an example.

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
He played against Brighton and before that, Chelsea, which was almost a week (6 days) apart. He started both and vs Chelsea he came off on 75'.
4 days before that he played vs Swansea, subbed off 10 mins to go.
3 days before that, off after 60 minutes at Chelsea
I assume before this he was injured.
Clearly this is a fragile player who has to be taken care of. This is hardly playing him a ton.
Yes, the NT doesnt have to care about the wishes of the club, rightly so. But they should care about the player, I dont see why Wenger would lie, clearly Diaby is fragile.

He isn't fit enough to play 90 mins every 2 games. Last time when Diaby was on a roll, he got called up and got injured while on duty. Arsene is afraid of that and rightfully so

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
Deschamps is a moron tbf....
He said if Sissoko joins Newcastle he is playing with his national team chances and implied he wouldn't track his progress as well as other Newcastle players.
Aye Didier i'm sure you're going to straight up ignore Mbiwa, Cabaye, Debuchy, Sissoko and Ben Arfa.
Also as mentioned France don't really need him, not sure why they are making such a big fuss about it.
AMs France lack, but they sure as hell don't lack CMs, DMs/b2bs.

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
Honestly, Deschamps is the boss and his track record speaks for itself... he'll do what he feels is best. He has so much equity given his career that he doesn't have to worry about anything. Results are all that count. For the first time, Wenger is dealing with a France NT manager that doesn't care about his feelings.
All DD cares about is France NT winning. He's not touchy feely at all.

I read about this before, he apparently said that he selects Cabaye due to his Lille times because he doesn't watch much football outside France.

Double D called up Giroud, Koscielny and Sagna. No Diaby.

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
actually, DD made him look bad lol. He released the list of pre-selectioned players on Jan 23. He could only call the final team from the players he had on that list by rule... he had sent a fax to all the clubs, including Arsenal, regarding the 50 players chosen.
His response today "Unless Arsenal have a faulty fax machine, Wenger knew on January 23 that i was not going to call Diaby."
Wenger is trying to deflect attention away from the Mercato any way he can lol.

Re: Deschamps and Wenger feuding
Wenger is right.. he needs to build his fitness back carefully selecting games and following a scheduled organised training.. a player with his injury record cant move on attending different sessions at different places..
to be realistic most of us here only care about our clubs.. but anyone who wishes well for Diabys future will agree with Wenger.. same about Wilshere too..
