Arsenal v Swansea FA cup 3rd round replay preview
Arsenal v Swansea City, Wednesday 16th January 7.30pm, FA Cup 3rd-round Replay, Emirates Stadium
Kieran Gibbs scored a golazo at the Liberty Stadium in the original tie, the team celebrate above
Late drama in Wales forces replay
Six maniacal minutes at the Liberty Stadium ten days ago, in which three late goals were scored, meant Swansea and Arsenal would have to do it all over again. The two clubs will meet for the third time this season already on Wednesday evening, in the FA Cup third-round replay clash at the Emirates.
With a goalless first hour in Wales, Michael Laudrup threw on top-scorer Michu, who netted instantly to put the Swans in front, but between the 81st and 87th minutes, Lukas Podolski, Kieran Gibbs and Danny Graham all found the back of the net - Gibbs' strike the pick of the goals; a wonderful volley past Michel Vorm following a precise Olivier Giroud lofted through-ball.
Match Facts
* Swansea have won 2 & drawn 1 of their last 3 games against Arsenal.
* Arsenal haven’t failed to make the 4th-round of the FA Cup since 1996.
* Michu has struck 3 times in his last 2 games against Arsenal.
* 5 of the 6 goals scored between Arsenal and Swansea this season have came in the final 10 minutes of matches.
* Danny Graham has scored four goals in his last five FA Cup appearances.
Team News
Arsenal
Koscielny (suspended), Arteta (calf), Rosicky (calf), Fabianski (ankle) and Gervinho (African Nations) are all unavailable.
Swansea
Lamah (ineligible) and Taylor (knee) are out.
Arsenal bench - Mannone, Sagna, Santos, Coquelin, Diaby, Arshavin, Podolski
Swansea bench - Tremmel, Bartley, Tiendalli, Monk, Agustien, Dyer, Graham
Managers
Arsene Wenger
"We have some improvements to make and we know exactly where. In January it is difficult to find the players that are really better and can give something special to the squad. The number is right, we have a good balance and we are working very hard to find what we want."
Michael Laudrup
"I like London, we have only lost to Tottenham there. We have done really well there and it's also more than two months where we have only lost two games, and apart from those two the last defeat was to Manchester City, the Premier League champions, away. This gives us a lot of confidence which is important because when you make changes and people come in, they fit in and feel that confidence."

Its getting quite pathetic that we still dont have a DM. We will get overrun in the midfield. Not because they're bad players, but because it is so painfully obviously imbalanced.
Why didnt we go after Vertonghen again?

Re: Arsenal v Swansea FA cup 3rd round replay preview
excellent work
im really Worried about the fact we dont/ more like cant rest some players
but knowing the reaction if we go out and that 2-0 defeat still fresh! in mind we should go for it
at the moment im not really looking forward to Chelsea game though............
cause the next game is always the most important one

Great Job Sam.
A must must win game, our season is on the line. I hope Theo goes back to the wing and Giroud starts up front. Cazorla needs rest and hope he is not in the starting 11.
-----------Szczesny
Jenk-----------Mert--------Verm---------Gibbs
-------------Ramsey---------Wilshere
--------------------Oxlade
Walcott---------------Giroud------------Podolski
Its about time the English 6 started for Arsenal.
Arsenal 3 Swansea 1.

I think you need to play Diaby for a half... first or second. Need to get him into shape before CL and big games. If he gets injured, nothing new lol.

............Szczesny.............
Sagna Merte Vermaelen Gibbs
.......Coquelin Ramsey............
...........Wilshere.............
...Walcott Giroud Podolski...
Ramsey was good in the last game and he was not on the wing, Wilshere has been unplayable lately and pushing him further up the field will help break their defence. Secondly walcott will need balls in behind the defence, Ramsey and wilshere and to some extent Coquelin can also do that. Defensively this is an unbalanced team unless coquelin play the arteta role of staying back but balanced or unbalanced we are in any case in for shambolic defending
Bring in Cazorla, oxlade and Diaby if the need be

Wenger: "We have an opportunity to bounce back." Hopefully the team won't be timid from the start tonight!
Wenger we cant Handel any more distractions, must get your team ready and win today. We need a big boost today for upcoming games.

Why would you start Ramsey, we need to keep that washout as far away from the pitch as possible, its the same thing with Santos, Gervinho, and Squid.mani88 wrote:............Szczesny.............

Just because he was very good in the city game, when he plays bad he deserves criticizism even I do that but when he plays good he deserves some credit too bro and given Arteta's Injury he should get the nod rather than playing diaby who has already played 60 competitive minutes this week.
P.S. That pass to walcott which was cleared off the line by Lescott was something I was craving to see from Arsenal, Kept expecting it from Cazorla but he did it.

Great work sam
We should really finish the game before the 90 mins. Don't want extra 30 mins at all.
Guess we will see few rotation.

Re: Arsenal v Swansea FA cup 3rd round replay preview
I am expecting a lot for this game, a big win even though Swansea are tough team to score against.
We cant allow them to play their game. A early goal will open up the game and hope we can trash them.
What happens if the game ends 1-1 or 3-3? or there must be a winner?

Re: Arsenal v Swansea FA cup 3rd round replay preview
This isn't a game where we can faff about with Ramsey and co.
Only reason Ramsey should even appear this game is if we either have an injury, or we're up 6-0 in the 80th minute
