Re: Adriano (multi-tool) currently the best full back?
IMO Adriano and Alves should start most of the games when fit. I feel much more secure when Adriano is on the pitch. Alba is beter attacking wise, but he is a liability in defense. Adriano is a more complete fullback. Hell, he is more complete football player in general. The only drawback i see in him is his injuries. But, having him and Alba gives you more tactical options. I think if he would not have been so injury prone he would be one of the best fullbacks in the world.
Currently, he is the best in la liga (with Alves constantly injured, and Marcelo and Abidal with long term injury/sickness, though Abi might never return). I don't have time to follow other leagues so much so i cant say about the rest.

Two Adriano specials already this seasonHarmonica wrote:Can play any position, can perfectly shoot with both feet.
Winner against Valencia
Crucial equalizer against Atletico
Against Santos in friendly
Winner and only goal against Malaga
Would be world's best full back without his injury problems.

Adriano is the defender who has scored most goals (3) from outside the penalty area in the top-5 leagues since 2012-2013 [via opta]

He's not the best full-back, Lahm, Pisczek, Alves (right-side) or Alaba, Marcelo, even A. Cole (left-side) are better imo.
However, he must be one of the best utility players, can play RB, LB, RW, LW and also as a CB or CM if needed.

Yeah, if he would just stay fit more than one or two games at a time. Seriously he has everything else, fast, strong, good defending, passing, dribbling, can play any position, most two footed player you will ever meet, and can score wonder goals. Such a shame he's handicapped by his injury proneness, I mean there has to be something he could do to improve it?terrance511 wrote:srsly, he's better than both alba and alves.

The way Barca treated Messi's injuries back in 08 ?Harmonica wrote:Yeah, if he would just stay fit more than one or two games at a time. That's easy actually.Cassius wrote:I rate Asamoah of Juventus higher. Although i do rate Adriano, class player, never complains and can play in all sorts of positions.
Interesting cause im not sure he had ever played as a wingback/fullback before Conte put him there, if he has adapted so soon then he deserves extra credit. cant wait to see him vs more quality opposition.
He went from B2B midfielder to B2B Fullback
