Bale is more like a downgraded version of the Ronaldo of today.
Bale has fantastic close control, in fact i feel it's often ignored part of his game.
His passing may not be Giggs level but neither was Giggs at Bale's age but it's still at a good standard it's much better than CR's anyway.

I dont see Bale similar to him in this sense. Take up different areas of the pitch also, Cristiano puts himself in goalscoring positions more frequently.
Ronaldo does cross. To me it's ineffective and pointless..but he does do it relatively well. Bale does it a bit better and more frequently as it's somewhat the staple of his game.
No. I am not one for stats but Cristiano is at 0.3 crosses per game, meanwhile Bale is at 1.6.
In the Europa league he is up to 4 a game while Cristiano in the CL 0.4.
Bale via my eye test and stats crosses far more than Cristiano.

1. Kick the ball
2. Chase it
3. Kick it to the penalty area
This is basically bales game, throw in a 360 turn every once in a while as well. He was a full back who couldnt defend so he converted to a winger. He has a great engine, thats what his game is about
Ronaldo is a better athlete generally (this goes for power, strength, coordination, agility, timing, ect)

Re: Bale the new Ronaldo?
I am not denying that Bale puts in more crosses than Ronaldo , anyone who watches both play will say that.
But I think crossing is literally the sole creative tool Ronaldo can claim to possess that is elite. He can get by a man on the line and he's accurate enough with either foot. It's simply ineffective with us because no one is ever going to get on the end of them.
The metric on who scored reflects accurate crosses per game
Ronaldo - 4/33 = 11%
Bale - 23/114 = 20 %
Almost double Bale's crosses hit the target. Which is probably why he sends in more of them, he has better targets and the team is setup to facilitate a crossing game.
With Benz playing CF sending in crosses really has no point. The 3 a game Ronaldo send in senselessly (nevermind the 5 or 6 from Di Maria) endlessly trouble my mind.
They are good at it but what is the point?
It's an ineffective tactic, they might as well not use it. I'm positive if there was someone slightly different he would send in more crosses.

Not saying stats are relevant, but what's the average age of the first 99 games for both players?

Rubbish if it was all he had then defenders would just sit deep and render him useless when in reality he's been one of the best players in the league for a long time now and is a much more complete player than people give him credit for.
The funniest thing about all this is basically everyone who says this support teams that Bale would walk into blindfolded.

I'm sure some Madrid fan somewhere said this and he is not even cracking rotation on this team.
Serious talk.
Where is he going to play?
Ronaldo will obviously start ahead of him and guys like Benz and Di maria would kill to play on the left in the event of him getting injured and we're gonna play Bale?. Nah man, don't see it. And it's not like he's going to play left back either.
They're linking us with him and I'm getting scared. Tottenham is not our own personal charity case.

I had not seen any Madrid fans say that tbf.... mostly PL fans of other clubs.
I agree he would not start for Madrid unless you prefer Bale to Di Maria for what ever reason.

I would rather have Bale than Di Maria. At least Bale plays well once in a while against top teams and never has 25% pass accuracy

Re: Bale the new Ronaldo?
Bale dosent compute to youth players that RM has in their cantera ..
For startes, being able to cross, cut in, good first touch, reknown as a dribbler dosent give him an 50m pricetag.
I dont see him ever ending up in Madrid, might as let Jese play instead.

Biggest load of BS I've read all day. Better athlete? Bale is quicker than him, works harder, is definatley more agile, timing of what? We all know Ronaldo only times to get goals. Bale gets goals and is balnced. There is a reason why any fullback would need an extra set of lunngs to cover Madrid's lb position. Strength? Are you for real? The same strength that led to him going to ground on almost every challenge?

yet Evra has been decent this season. Anyone that watches United games would know that. Arbelao is the reason Madrid are second in that cl group. Awful defender. Never seen a fb were a winger has to work hard for him. Madrid have opposite problems on either flanks.
if it ain't broke don't fix it...

Evra decent ..I was watching UTD concede 3 goals against newly promoted Championship yesterday, for me he looked frustrated as hell, Ive lost count how many times he got burned defending his own flank .

Spanish/Argentine/whatever > British players.
The only British player that would maybe get into the Real Madrid side is Wilshere.
