Subbed off today at halftime. Played poorly today! What is your take on him at Madrid? I never thought he was WC and that Madrid shouldn't have bought him. How do you think he will impact Madrid as the season goes on?

he was ok. didnt expect him to play well with xabi next to him. i think he was subbed off so we could have a DM there instead

He's a contemporary player who was extremely unappreciated at Tottenham. Stats obviously do not show his importance for Spurs in the first place, but he was [and still is] a great player.

I don't think he is 'world class' though; it's a term in my opinion reserved for the best 3 players at a specific position.

Hes been superb for RM so far. But he wasnt cut out for tactically, we needed a DM for this game imo.

He's not a bad player (surely doesn't deserve his €40 million price tag though) but don't expect someone like Mourinho to get the best out of such a player.

Good player, but Khedira and Alonso are better deep, Özil is better up front, so where does he fit?

Essien was such a beast today. Can't believe Mou didn't start him as tactically it made sense to play a DM against this counter attacking team.

It is not that modric was bad , the thing is neither him or alonso are proper dms./ we need someone to win the ball . needed to bring our only good option in that department aka essien in the match, and he was very good. and alonso is more experienced than modric so modric had to be the one to be sacrificed. and mou was spot on

i am sorry but khedira is not average, everything is not just flash you know.. and alonso at the moment is a much better option than modric, very experienced too so its a no - brainer

He is, it just depends on whether Mourinho wants a playmaker CM ahead of Alonso or a ball winner.

I wonder if Khedira would be able to play as a lone DM in a 4-3-3.

Khedira is average? Some people really need to watch football with a closer vision, see all the movements, work rates and tactical reading that goes in a game. Same people that used to say (and still say) Busquets is crap.
