David Villa calls Juventus?
There are surprise reports from Spain that David Villa is eager to solve the Juventus striker problem with a January move.
The Bianconeri had already made an offer for the international in the summer, but he preferred to stay on at Barcelona after recovering from a serious injury that kept him out for eight months.
According to Fichajes.net Villa is now regretting that decision, as he has not received much playing time at the Nou Camp.
Juve are still searching for a ‘top player’ to strengthen their strike force, having failed to capture names like Stevan Jovetic, Fernando Llorente and Robin Van Persie.
Villa would be an ideal addition to the Turin giants, although he turns 31 in December.

Re: David Villa calls Juventus?
I felt like I shouldn't comment on this, but then again I've had a couple of Big Irish Coffees while watching the Big Andy Carroll again play brilliantly for West Ham only to lack adequate support in attack, so I ended up writing here:
Juventus with their endless rumours for just about anyone bar Messi and Ronaldo, somebody please please please make this stop already, the joke is getting older than Pele and Maradona combined.

Yeah, Devi, your passion towards Juventus is fantastic, but all these groundless Juve rumours are a little irritating. Something journalists shouldn't get paid for.

Villa's like 31 this year.
I think Juve should go for someone younger.

Re: David Villa calls Juventus?

Oh, Juventus could definitely use Villa, it would be foolish to say otherwise.
The utter unlikeliness of it happening though, overwhelms that ability to recognize his use

Re: David Villa calls Juventus?
Villa is not enjoying his barca role tbh. He has scored 3 goals this season in approx 180 mins of football but is still getting benched by alexis.
There were reports in Spain that he is giving it untill December, if his situation doesnt change, then he wants a move.

This is very possible imo.

Re: David Villa calls Juventus?
Tbh if this were to happen, Villa would turn Juve into a CL contender right up there with Barca and Madrid.

Re: David Villa calls Juventus?
While he certainly improves their chances, there are other factors to overcome in the management and approach to European games that Juve have yet to overcome. They've seemed too reliant on their Serie A strategy both on the pitch and in their attitude towards points. They need to win in Europe, if they want to progress.Messiah "Aggerswagger" wrote:Tbh if this were to happen, Villa would turn Juve into a CL contender right up there with Barca and Madrid.
As far as Villa... The rumor is highly unlikely. I think they're more likely to go in for Huntelaar, Llorente, etc. in January. Huntelaar and Llorente both offer Juve the predator-in-the-box, they have been so desperately lacking. The way Juve play, they could really benefit from a target man that lurks in and around the opponents penalty area. Both forwards offer that. Both forwards may also leave in January. Schalke have yet to agree a contract with Huntelaar, and may look to cut their losses. However, he would be cup-tied in the Champions League. Bilbao WILL sell Llorente in January, as it appears the striker is unwilling to sign a new contract, and will leave in the summer if not sold. Therefore, Bilbao will be desperate to receive something. As long as Juve match Bilbao's asking price, I can't see Llorente turning them down.

He is not getting benched because of Sanchez, he is getting benched because of his long term injury. Just look at the Spanish NT. He got a few minutes against Belarus, IIRC, and didnt even play against France.. Or does Sanchez play for Spain as well??

Re: David Villa calls Juventus?
Why would David Villa leave Barca in January and lose out an a CL final contention, and La liga title. This rumour would have been somewhat believable during the summer. Maybe you guys are in for Llorente still?
