iPad mini event

So apple just ripped of iPad 3 (aka new iPad) owners by not just announcing an iPad mini (which they had to) but also announcing the Ipad 4..

and the iPad mini is too expensive in my view.... Nexus 7 is $250 for 32gb.... iPad mini 32gb is $429....

The target audience isn't meant to be everyone. People prefer a bigger screen hence the boom in tablets that share a 9-10 inch screen.


Samsung ripped their owners off with the Galaxy Tab, the 10 inch, followed by an 8.9 inch, then a Galaxy 2 Tab etc etc

Samsung released different sizes, Apple released the iPad 4 only 6 months after iPad 3....which is the same size..iPad mini is a different size not iPad 4

And an iPod is released every 2 years.

The refresh with lightning and a6? Most that just bought the iPad 3 are going to feel all that left out tbh now if someone still has the first gen or iPad 2 then yeah there is a huge difference

Every new piece of technology is becoming "obsolete" in less than a year..

I don't understand the hate against Ipad mini.

It is very very pricy but quality comes at a price.

There are already many websites that have reviewed the device and said so many positive things about the quality.

The only complains are no retina display and again of course the price.

It's definitely a class above Nexus 7 which, btw, has a toy-like feel to its design.

It's sad that many people don't understand that screen resolution is not the most important aspect of a display, even though it is the most quoted spec. Contrast ratio, color saturation, and color accuracy are more important than screen resolution. In fact, the difference in resolution of iPad mini's 1024 x 768 and Kindle's 1280 x 800 is probably very very hard to discern by human eyes (especially by non-experts) because both devices are relatively small.

At that size and resolution, 1024 x 768 displays can even be better than 1280 x 800 depending on the former's contrast ratio, saturation, etc.

So, dismissing iPad mini's quality as a hype just because of its resolution sounds like a poorly reasoned and researched conclusion.

So the fact it has shit speakers and is unable to play HD TV or Video is what?

The only people who like it are apple sheep who wanted an apple tablet in a smaller device

There isn't a tablet on the market with even "decent" speakers.

I own an HP Tablet and that has the best sound out of any tablet hands down.

The mini should have airplay. (I'll look into it)

If so I can mirror straight to my tv all wireless. I already do it with my 3. Cool thing I can airplay and also still use my ipad. I did it yesterday for my little cousins.

Airplaying Madagascar 3 from my ipad while I'm in my room on goallegacy and writing a paper on it and everyone else is in the basement. Hopefully the mini has that capability.

Uhmm I'm not sure if that's true ....

And it baffles me that some people seem not able to perceive the obvious beauty of Apple product designs. Also, personally, I prefer iOS much much more than Android because so many features of iOS are designed to be intuitive and pleasing to the eyes. Android environment though... yuck.... handhelds are about usability and user experience and Apple has done a great job...

I wonder if Apple lowered the prices to match its competitors how many Android users would turn into..... "sheeps"
