Canada
I hope no one watched that game cause that was a disgrace.
One of the biggest games in our history where a DRAW would have taken us to the final round of World Cup qualifying, and we lose 8-1 to Honduras.
Its a disgrace considering we have alot more resources to put into the development of our players compared to the likes of Panama, Honduras etc.

Re: Canada
Did you not know , Canadians take pride in producing ONLY hockey players. You can count us out in any sporting event at a world-wide stage. We take pride in "participating" and coming 4th and what not. Our entire system is crap. We have players that bitch about the fans from the opposite team being too loud. I can go on for ever really....

Re: Canada
If we had succeeded, combined with our women's results at the Olympics, it would have resulted in some real optimism for soccer in our country. People would be talking about how we could be on the verge of actually becoming decent at it if we just push a little bit more. But nope, we're Canada, where we only beat teams that randomly have players not show up (okay, maybe a bit of a hyperbole

Re: Canada
The sad thing is. Had Canada drawn this game and made it to the Hex, likes of De Guuzman (Swansea) and Hoilett (QPR) were likely to join for the next round.
and it's not that we lost, it's the fact that we were disgraced, and I don't think any half-decent player will look at us.
Jamaica qualified to the Hex, which means we can kiss Hoitlett goodbye now.
It's really sad. With Canada's multicultural society and so many talented Italian and Portuguese players with Canadian citizenship who'll never get into those squad, they should really maximize their resources.
the game today lacked heart, belief, passion, absolutely everything. it the the biggest game in history of Canada in 21st century, and god....

the TV usually has hockey or American football on , don't expect much from them even though i miss being in stadium
you under estimate the English background is this commonwealth country

well where i live is mainly populated by Italians , the huge silence after Spain game was rather scary , however I've seen a lot of English lads at stadium once when i went there , not hard to identify by their accent

Re: Canada
Our team is shit. Soggy, yellowish pile of shit. Yankee danky doodle shite. I'm not even rooting for them anymore.
We should actually send the ladies team to those qualifiers. What a shame

Re: Canada
There was that short glimmer of hope, but letting in a goal at the end of the half is never good. Canadian Soccer ( at least the mens) continues to stagnate.
Meanwhile the Yankees advance and have a hot new prospect who looked like the brightest US talent since Eric Wynalda.
