You didn't understand the logic behind it? Messi hasn't always been an attacking midfielder who's sole purpose is to create, Özil has. Comparing career statistics therefore distorts the comparison.

There is really no point to debate with you, as you have hard time to understand even the simplest logical arguments.

Go to espn and check. wikipedia isn't a good source. i can go and edit Messi's stats there. i still can't believe someone like you who is famous for his stats thing relies on wikipedia as source.

Messi is goat but Ozil's assist stats are better than him. just deal with it.

ESPN isn't any more credible than WIKI, which usually actually refers to OPTA statistics.

You are embarrassed. clearly. Transfermarket is another source many use. so lets see from transfermarket :

Messi in 2011-2012 season Liga stats : 3270 Minutes played 20 assists : 1 assist per 163 min
Ozilllll in 2011-2012 season Liga stats : 2566 Minutes played 20 assists : 1 assist per 128 min

So....still want to continue?

Transfermark calculates assists also from others than direct passes, not that you would know that. And that also distorts assist from "final ball" argument. And what's with the minutes played comparison? It's pointless as Özil is more bounded to midfield, where as Messi has to cover attacking side also.

Messi Liga throughball every 58 minutes.
Özil Liga throughball every 128 minutes.

Still want to be embarrassed more?
