Cavani > Falcao Empty Re: Cavani > Falcao

Post by RealGunner Mon Oct 08, 2012 7:14 pm

He is more complete, but the question isn't that though. Falcao is better than him at every compartment where they both mutually share. Cavani has more strength and pace but i don't know if that really puts him above Falcao as the latter really requires pace.

But then it comes down to what you prefer, or what you put above the other. For example Gerrard is more complete than Lampard, but some people prefer lampard instead.

Cavani > Falcao Empty Re: Cavani > Falcao

Post by Arquitecto Mon Oct 08, 2012 7:28 pm

I have to agree with Gil to a certain extent. Falcao is a world class striker and at the moment the best out-and-out target man in the world.

Cavani is indeed more complete than Falcao as he has shown a remarkable range of passing (especially his point point through balls when frequently dropping deep (Falcao prefers to stay within the box). Cavani also is known for his two-footedness whereas Falcao's weaker foot has been a hindrance since his Porto days. He also is ahead in his wonderful dribbling and trickery.

Falcao who is well known to have Inzaghi as his idol inspires himself through his goal scoring instinct and more clinical finishing. Lets not forget his superior aerial ability. Falcao essentially is replica of a young Inzaghi and in essence, the more effective striker in the end.

Cavani is more who creates something out of nothing while Falcao does need service more then Cavani usually does.

That being said Falcao is above Cavani but not by such a substantially large gap.

I'd rather have Falcao in my team, but I can understand why Gil would like him more as Cavani is one of the most complete strikers out there.

Cavani > Falcao Empty Re: Cavani > Falcao

Post by Ion Creanga Mon Oct 08, 2012 7:46 pm

whoever watches napoli playing would agree that Cavani is top 3 strikers in the world easily(by strikers i don't mean messi and ronaldo)... he is amazing, sprint speed is great, his shots are fabulous, and no defender can mark him... I would pay 50 millions to get him at juve... but De Laurentiis will never let him go, especially to serie a rivals. He's my favourite striker, and he's not morally retarded (he doesn't want PSG, CIty etc)

Falcao is fabulous too, but i prefer Cavani..

I watch Napoli Fairly Regularly, but i disagree that Cavani is better than Ibra, Aguero or Van Persie. He would be in top 10 easily but top 3 is a bit too tight imo

Ibra yes, Van persie i don't think so(in many games at utd he looks like he is not in the game, i prefer Rooney), and Aguero is not Cavani's level... I mean aguero has silva, nasri, tevez and thousands more behind him... many people said that after lavezzi left, cavani will be medium, but he is better.

IF he is a clinical finisher and doesn't have 1/8 goal converting ratio, then real madrid need him

Offload Higuain and bring Cavani!!!!! only if he's clinical finisher though

i completely agree that Cavani >>>> Falcao.... you know what the easiest way to understand that is?? go watch Cavani vs. Chelsea 7 months ago, you will see what Cavani can do, falcao can never do....

Cavani, is stronger, faster, better passer of the ball, better dribbler... Falcao is better at heading and "good looking" goals, but Cavani is a more complete player

Post by Lord Hades Mon Oct 08, 2012 11:27 pm

please dont talk about their performances vs chelsea especially if you want to prove cavani as better by virtue of that game. falcao destroyed chelsea, while cavani was just very good against them

overall falco is more clinical and a better striker, which imo is more important to me since i would like them to play as number nines.

By far the most overrated performance of the decade.

Cavani against us at San Paolo was far more impressive.

I have no idea about Uruguay and wouldn't be surprised since he is stuck in as a pure 9 in there.

But for Napoli, watch literally any Milan vs Napoli match. Watch City vs Napoli, Napoli vs Palermo 2011, 1st leg of Napoli vs Juve Scudetto winning year. Point is I've seen him perform it many times.

I would take both at Arsenal Laughing but if I had to choose I'd get Falcao. Seems to be a more prolific striker while Cavani maybe is more complete as a footballer.

Post by Gil Tue Oct 09, 2012 2:46 pm

Unless you're going to average a goal p/g like Messi & Cristiano do, I'm taking the better footballer over the striker with a slightly better goal-record every time.

As great as Falcao is he's not impacting the game unless he's scoring.

There's a reason any sane human being would take strikers like Henry, Drogba, Prime R9 and other players of that ilk over strikers with superior goal records in RVN, Inzaghi, Sheva etc

As Arq alluded to Cavani is more of a footballer than Falcao.
