Llorente/Bielsa bust-up at training this morning
According to Marca: http://www.marca.com/2012/10/01/futbol/equipos/athletic/1349084845.html
Fernando Llorente has left the training camp unexpectedly after an exchange of views with Marcelo Bielsa who apparently was not too satisfied with Llorente in the work session.
He's not staying in January is he?

Will join Juventus in the winter
even La Real Sociedad fans were booing him during the derby yesterday. Traitor in his own land they say, it's perfectly normal he is not at his best at the moment

its a real disgrace. was really looking forward to see bilbao play this season. wanted them to keep martinez and llorente. They could have been a real force in the next couple of seasons. there's absolutely no loyalty left nowadays!! feel sad for bilbao. they should send this moron to the stands for the rest of the season even if it means losing him for nothing next year!! should teach him a lesson or two

Re: Llorente/Bielsa bust-up at training this morning
Another fallacious report by Marca with people actually believing this crap.
Llorente only left with a slight calf strain.
As for the whole Llorente rage from the Basques he does deserve it and he knows it considering he grew up in the province where you swear allegiance to your Basque roots. He should have handled it better.
As for January, I've already admitted he is most likely to leave as the club most likely will be Juve. If not his love for Juve he never would have made the request.

Come on Arq, dont serve us the Marca is crap argument.
It's everywhere in the Spanish medias, including AS. The news about their dispute is 1st page in El Correo, which i believe is the Athletic Bilbao's Marca/AS.
shit is flying

So you pledge allegiance to the Basque flag, and if you go against it in any way you get ostracized and get abused hurled at you in public, awesome. Sounds like a great place.

Whether the bust up is true or not, it was a mistake not to sell him in the summer window. You keep a player who is adamant on leaving and you can quite easily get troubles between him and the club / manager.

It was a mistake? They made 40M off Martinez by playing hard to get (rather than the 20M he's worth) and were only getting offers for Llorente of 13M or so. I applaud Bilbao for putting an end to player power.

Re: Llorente/Bielsa bust-up at training this morning
Bielsa needs to gooooo!!!!!!!!
I think at this point in his career, Llorente has no more left to give to us Bilbao faithfuls or Euskadi Nationalists. El Rey Leon has done everything in his powers for Bilbao and you could tell after their devastating final losses last season there wasn't anything left in him to give. Last year was his pinnacle as a Bilbao player and basically his last hoorah as a Bilbao legend and icon.
I wish El Rey Leon farewell and best of luck to him. Hopefully he can represent Euskadi and Bilbao the best he can. You will be sorely missed

Bielsa's off to a rough start but surely after all he did last season he deserves to stay the entire season provided Bilbao aren't in relegation territory, right?

Re: Llorente/Bielsa bust-up at training this morning
If anything, Llorente should be pissed off at Juventus and/or other clubs for getting him excited for wanting to leave and not being able to afford him. 20m is NOT unreasonable for a player of his quality.

All fine and well, but is a paltry 7m really worth destroying the a talented team's unity? That's what appears to be happening when your star player and your coach are at loggerheads. Ending player power, as you suggest, is indeed a great thing for the club, but what we're seeing is invariably the con to that pro.

Re: Llorente/Bielsa bust-up at training this morning
Sure, but it's in Llorente's best interest to remain a professional and play through his contract, even if he is unhappy. He still wants to perform so as to attract the best possible suitor come June.
Also from Bilbao's point of view, since their transfer policy heavily limits what they can do with their money, it makes little sense to cash in.
