From a few days ago?

The person bankrolling 100% of the transfers at Shanghai owns only a little over 40% of the club's shares. He's asked the other shareholders to pay him their share or give the equivalent in club stock. They have refused both. There's now a legal action going on by this shareholder where he would get the stock.... which would land him at over 70%. Meanwhile, he has frozen his investment and they can't pay the high wages without his money.

Some details have come out. Basically, here are the reasons Al Thani is holding his investment:
- He was promised a better media deal by the league and they haven't come through
- He had planed a hotel resort, a port and a football academy in Malaga and the authorities there have been slow with the approval process of the projects
- Several key executives that he deemed crucial (like Hierro) have left. He doesn't trust the new management yet

In short, he wants to see if his projects are approved and if the media terms are as promised.... Honestly, i would do the same thing. Business is business. It's not a one way street.

I don't think he is leaving, if he is, he won't go to the EPL. Especially not Pool or united. He will probably go where the money is, the middle east maybe, or MLS if the pay him enough.
